Hey now!
Time to reveal the big-little score I've been teasing the last couple days.
But before I do that, I'll show you some stuff I picked up at the local Savers yesterday, all for a hair under seven dollars:

- Official Nintendo Power
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
strategy guide: Good grief, how many different "official" strats were published for
Ocarina
, anyway?
-
Final Fantasy XIII
Complete Official Guide HC, Collector's Edition: Anybody know if this was originally released with a dust jacket?
- Three Archie
Sonic
comics and mini Shadow mini plush: This is the third time in as many trips I've discovered Sonic swag at this particular Savers. I think someone donated a run of
Sonic
ishes, and they're just putting them out little by little. BTW hey Raze: if you really, really want those comics, all you have to do is admit that Sonic is, always has been, and always will be Mario's bitch. let's see how much of a die-hard fanboy you
really
are...
On the main event. I bought this from my best friend for $10...

....and
he
bought it at a yard sale for $3.
Pretty good for something that goes for about $25-$30 loose online, don'cha think!
Can you figure out a big reason why I bought this? If not, here's a hint:

Figured it out yet? What do you mean, "no"?! Man, you guys are dense...
Anyhoo: Although the manual advises against it, I'm considering setting this up with my 360 on the bottom shelf, and my PS3 on the top shelf, like what you can see here (in reverse):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/...ges_0?ie=UTF8&index=0
Whattaya think of that plan?

Quite a few loz ocarina guides came out I am always on the look out for a replacement for my very bad copy of the Prima edition loz guide.

Wow, you must have found my latest pick-ups really impressive to have quoted them three straight times in your post.
That, or you're not big on using the "Preview" button before posting...
On a more serious note: the Savers I got that from has had quite a few of the rarer guides lately, particularly
LoZ
and
Final Fantasy
strats.

Whatever that man doesn't pick up from you on the Starpath games, I'll take. I have that same Nintendo book as well, and picked up a companion book with it at the same garage sale for Game Boy games. There's also quite a few others in the series that are meant to be pocket-sized.
I apologize for being late again with replying, Shadow. I think we all know how real life can get in the way of what we want to do a lot of the time. Anyway, unfortunately, when I finally got around to looking at the games and seeing if they at least work in a tape player, in Escape From The Mindmaster, both of the spools are broken, and it won't even try to turn. So, that one is, unfortunately, off the table. I only paid a quarter for it, so I'm not mad about it, but it's still a bit disappointing that someone that could actually enjoy it now can't.
As for Dragonstomper, if you just gave me your address, I'd gladly send it to you, as that one did turn just fine and I presume it'll work with the Supercharger. If there's anything else you need, just let me know.
Cassette tapes can be easily repaired. I'd have to see what the actual problem is, and if I could save the case at all.
Glad you know about repairing cassette tapes, then.
I'll get it out to you as soon as I can, along with the Dragonstomper, once I do get your address and find the time to get that done. Hopefully, it'll be easy enough for you to get it fixed.

...in more ways than one, so to speak.
Finally, should anyone ask me where I'd like to spend my next vacation, I'm gonna tell them:

On the subject of spazzing out, I think I only got that far once when I found Super Mario RPG in the wild for $3. My friend that was with me wouldn't let the fact I showed him up on finds that day go XD.

Hey everyone got a package in the mail yesterday from our very own Singlebanana. What I got from him was a few NES Boxes -
*Faxanadu - now I need a manual (should be easy enough)
*Super Spy Hunter with hang tab in tact - Now mine is CIB
*Taboo - just the box - Now I need a cart & Manual

Opened the post yesterday to find a birthday package from slackur. He was kind enough to send me a compilation disc that contains Drakkhen for the PC, for which I thank him very kindly.

On another note, I was prepared for a serious fight when booting this game (an obscure MS-DOS game from 1990) but was pleasantly surprised when the game started immediately in a very pretty and colorful VGA mode with music.

Hey now,
Found a few surprises at a nearby Goodwill's odds-'n'-ends section the other day:

-
Skylanders Giants
Portal owner's starter pack for Wii, $7.99: the box was a bit beat up, but it's still sealed.
- CIB Mega Bloks
Skylanders Giants
Dark Spyro battle portal set, $2.99
- Prima
Super Mario Galaxy 2
guide, $0.99
- TI-86 calculator, $8.99: Yep, still findin' these all over the place.
- Pro'sKit 30-in-1 video game screwdriver set: I picked this up at a local Fry's.
The following day I hit the Savers that had been yielding all the Sonic stuff and
Zelda
guides, and stumbled upon...

-
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
comic TPB, $1.99: Collecting the story arc originally published in
Nintendo Power
magazine way back when. I didn't discover it so much as I noticed a kid leafing through it in the children's books section. I hovered around the next bookshelf over for a few minutes, keeping an eye on him, and hoping he wouldn't be interested in it and put it back on the shelf. Sure 'nuff, that's what happened, and I'm now the owner of a rare vidya tie-in to the greatest
LoZ
game ever!
- Def Leppard
Pyromania
portfolio folder thingy, $0.29: when I first saw this, I thought it was an original Trapper-type deal from the 1980s, and in surprisingly good condition. Eh, not quite, I'm afraid; it has a 2012 copyright date. But it's still pretty freakin' sweet none the less.
