I saw a older PC game caught my eye at a thrift shop, but I wasn't going to shell out $3.99 for it when I may of not of even been able to get it to work(and it was just a jewel case)

For older DOS based PC games you can always run them in the DOSBox environment.

No, it was from like the early 00s ot late 90s, I think it was like a windows 98 era thing.

Alright, back to the scores.

Fair enough.

Quote
I think we already had a Weird Al thread going a few months ago.

Yeah, and I think I blew that one up by stating that I didn't much care for UHF. Methinks I'll dig that one up and make amends for my boorish behavior.

But before I do that, here's what I've uncovered in the last few days:

Strategy guides, $2.00 each:

- BradyGames Resistance: Fall of Man
- Nintendo Power Star Wars Rogue Squadron I and II

CIB Xbox & PS2 games, $1.95 each:

- Dragon's Lair 3D
- Seek and Destroy
- Xenosaga II

PS1 games w/o back sheets, $0.50 each:

- Dragon Seeds
- WarCraft II: The Dark Saga
The first WarCraft item to grace my collection.

CIB DS games:

- Atelier Annie: Alchemists of Sera Island, $7.95
- Final Fantasy Crystal CHronicles: Ring of Fates, $10.39

Pickups from the Microsoft online store blowout sale:

- 8GB USB Flash Drive, $5.99
- FPS Freek analog stick extension set, $3.99

Other stuff:

- Boxed Super Empire Strikes Back (no manual), $2.49: I bought this for the box. I have WildBil to blame for this-- he's the Typhoid Mary of cardboardmania.

- Pearl pink GBA SP, $14.99

- Mega Bloks Skylanders Giants Trigger Happy with gatling Gun building set: Hey, it's Skylanders, and it's Trigger Happy... 'nuff said.

- Wendy's Mario Kart Super Circuit Kids' meal toy, $0.25: Definitely a "quirky" vidya tie-in. What you see in the pic is actually the bottom of the toy-- the red dot at lower right is what you dial to move the little race cars around the track on the other side:

It's pretty much a given that Mario is the red car, Luigi the green one, and Peach the pink one. But who represents the yellow one? Personally, I think it's Wario. Ahhh, who cares? What matters is that it's surprisingly fun for such a simplistic game.

Oh yeah, I also found a TI-83 Plus graphing calculator for $6.49. 'Cuz you guys are gonna mutiny if I don't toss a Nerf or graphing-calc score into each of my Small Scores posts. And God knows we don't need to go through that again.

Oh my, will you look at the time? I gotta book. Okay, see you guys later--

Errr... ummm... uhhh... I... I can explain...

Ahhh, screw it.

Hey, it was thirty bucks, and in pretty much brandy new condition. Well, except for the Sharpie markings and the broken seal. For that little, why not give it a go? We're talkin' 60% off retail here, and no sales tax to boot. So don't judge. Besides, I see it as a good harbinger of the holiday shopping season. I am SO gonna clean up, just you wait and see! Who will be sorry THEN, huh? HUH?! evilhappy

Stopped at Savers on the way home from work and they actually had a couple things I've been on the look out for.

Finally got my AtGames Genesis clone, brand new, and the Donkey Kong Country Returns is like new.  Might be for sale after I play it.

Is that Star Trek box the one I traded to banana a long time ago?

If I were a betting man, I would say that it is. As most of you know, I'm not a CIB collector when it comes to the 2600. I did keep the game though and sent the box to a good home. Probably one of the nicest 2600 boxes I have ever seen.

I still haven't topped that 2600 lot in my opinion. That was one of my first posts too. A lot of those boxes still had shrink wrap around them when I bought them. I'm not into pre NES at all but a lot of those boxes were pristine. We should have a thread that's our own personal best scores ever.

I think RFGen as a whole had a huge score today with the 2DS commotion and TraderJake's prophecy.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did DKCR set you back? Just curious to see how your Savers' pricing compares to the ones near me.

This past Saturday, there was a community-wide yard sale at a local event center called The Osage Center.  Also, starting yesterday (Thursday, August 29th) and running through Sunday, there is a 50-someodd-mile chain of yard sales along a local highway.  Along with other regular yard sales and a bit of thrift shopping, I came out with a helluva lot of stuff this past week, so this is gonna be pretty long:

All of this came from so many different places, instead of separating by where it all came from, I more or less sorted it by type:

These guides are all in good shape, except for the Skyrim, which is missing the back cover, but otherwise is not missing any pages.  The Skyrim, FF VIII and FF IX guides all have their respective posters as well.    Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX, And Skyrim Strategy Guides  $1.00 each

Except for two of them, all of these are complete, and all are virtually scratch-free.    AOE Games: $1.00 each    SimCity Games:  $.50 each    MechWarrior 2:  $1.00    Serious Sam & Unreal Tournament:  $1.50 each    Command & Conquer Saga:  $2.00

All discs are in good shape and CIB.  The KISS Pinball with the yellow Toys-R-Us sticker on the front is sealed, except for a small tear on the bottom left corner on the front.    KISS Pinball (x2):  $2.00 each    Final Fantasy VII, Fear Effect & Fear Effect 2:  3/$5.00    Playstation Interactive CD:  $.15    Playstation Jampack Winter '99:  $1.00

the SMB box is a mini board game that came from Wendy's kid's meals in 2001, and features board game versions of Super Mario Bros. Advance and Super Mario Kart Advance.  The City Connection and Maniac Mansion are both in really good shape and play just fine.    SMB Mini Board Games:  $.50    City Connection And Maniac Mansion:  $2.00 each

I already have one of these for my N64 that I found at Goodwill just a few months ago, so picking one up for my Playstation as a companion piece was a no-brainer for me.    Mad Catz Dual Force Steering Wheel For Playstation:  $2.00

It's missing the front and top stickers, but otherwise is in good shape and works great.    Ms. Pac-Man Mini Arcade By Coleco  $3.00

Finally, I found these among a bunch of regular audio tapes.  I know very little about Supercharger games, so any info about them would be greatly appreciated.    Sword Of Saros, Party Mix, Dragonstomper, And Escape From The Mindmaster Supercharger Tape Games  $.25 each

Got a box full of carrying cases from a coworker today. Probably not going to keep them all so if you see something you like, PM me (The Zelda organizer and N64 system manual have been claimed). Better pics on request.

The Zelda trapper thingy had these inside. Again, probably willing to part with them and I'm sure some people here want them, so hit me up. The manuals are in great condition:

PS I am so fucking sick of the blurry ass pics coming off of my phone. Whatever. It's Friday, it's a long weekend, PARTY TIME.

Hey Guys,

Had some beautiful gamecube & n64 scores this month, the amazing deals kept on coming in. A few of the absolute best games I've scored are on the picture below.

They cost me about one third of what you would pay for German, France, Italian versions (these are al English) on ebay. So I'am well happy! I also finally scored 2 of my number one wants for the n64 namely:

1x Conker's Bad Fur Day (PAL)
1x Paper Mario 64 (PAL)

I mostly focus on building my N64 and Gamecube collection so this month was HUGE for me.

Ok, so this is my first time posting in this thread, so I hope Im following the rules. I (in my mind) had a very slow month collecting wise. I have other commitments to pay for first before my hobby but I did end up getting some interesting stuff none the less.

Ok technically I got this in July but I never finalized the deal until August

I traded for a Snes with 2 controllers, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country, Mario Paint and Super Mario World which I basically got for free. No idea what the games are lol except Doki Doki Panic which was the main reason I wanted this

I payed about 7$ each a game. This was more of an impulse buy.Got them on kijiji. I know some of the games are worth way more and some way less but I just wanted to beef up my SMS collection

Grabbed this off eBay, Im planning to make this into a curtain for my game room. 40$ ouch

Grabbed Die Hard Box, manual and paperwork off a dude on NA for $60. Puzznic and Hollywood Squares I got from a local game store for $10 each both are in minty condition so I couldn't pass.

Got these 4 from a collector buddy of mine. Really happy for finally get a cib Donald Duck Goin Quackers for N64. Just the box for Daikatana, but still happy to get it. Casino Kid 2 cib is kinda tuff one to get. The box and manual for Ardy Lightfoot, too bad this one has bad water damage on the left side of the box ( about 1 inch) other then that its MINT lol. I payed like $80 and traded a bunch of common fodder that my buddy will sell in his booth at the Antique Mall we have in Edmonton.

Ok heres the bigger score that all come from another one of my collector buddies, he's basically clearing out all the stuff he had in storage. I think I payed around $380 for all of it. I did a few deals with him over the course of a few weeks and heres what I ended up with

Nintendo Power anyone??? lol. I had quiet a few of these already but his were in much better condition with all of the posters still inside and all the other pull outs.

Some sweet guides and a awesome Power Flash. Mario and Zelda kids books take me back to the past for sure!

The 1991 calendar is very interesting for sure. The art work is odd just like the cover, Last issue of Nintendo Power subscribers edition, this was a very pleasant surprise since I missed out when it released. Comic Systems is totally awesome.

1989 Kraft Super Mario Bros cheese whiz jar with the original lid. I love this jar so much since I really like items that are advertising mixed with video games. Im using him as a book end for all my old tips and tricks books.

A ton of arcade stuff. the boards are for Donkey Kong. He included all of the components for a Neo Geo setup in a jamma machine. Also threw in 5 games King of Fighters '94 and '96, Art of Fighting 3, Fatal Fury and Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 The Newcomers. Just a lot of cool stuff

And the big heavy score

Super Dodge Ball Arcade Cabinet. I love his game very different from the NES version ( the new version is probably better ) But I still love it. Very difficult. This cabinet was a conversion from a Joust machine and its a jamma set up so I can swap out all the components with other games.  This cab needs some work but that fine with me since I want to start learning how to work on Arcade and Pinball machines. For the price I paid it was a solid deal.

Well thats all I got this month, I think. I probably missed a few things. Im not sure whats considered a small score but for the most part I think I did ok for prices. let me know

I think it's the Atari, there's multiple versions of it(one even looks like a 7800 and has a few games from that mixed into the bunch)
