What started off as a trip to the hardware store turned out nicely. Gotta love the thrift store surprises.

I don't collect for Game Cube so these are all for sale.

Awesome, finds.  Never played the Pikmin games before but I here they are pretty interesting games.  Seeing some good stuff from a lot of people this week, it must be that right time of year

I didn't realize Power Pads came in such a boring box until I saw one at the local game store yesterday.

Unusually boring.  It looks like an accessory box for the Wii.

Finally got myself an Atari 2800 console.  That is the Japanese version of the 2600, which is hard to find.  Put some pics up here:

That's not a retail box it's the box from inside the Power Set.

Right? He picked up essentially half of my PS2 RPG collection in one fell swoop. More than a little bit jealous of that. Wink

Hey now,

I got a surprise package in the mail today.  Our good ol' buddy Zagnorch sent me a box out of the blue.  What could it be?  He was awesome and sent me a GBA SP!! I'm guessing it was from myself and techwizard talking about playing Link's Awakening on our GBC.  Zagnorch is a great guy.  Thanks alot man!!

Well, I didn't want you to go blind from eye-strain trying to make things out on a non-backlit screen.

And blindness kinda takes the fun outta vidya-playin', ya know?

And the rest of you guys are making me feel kinda bad for not findin' much in the thrifts this week. Well, until today that is. But before I get to that, my Monday-through-Friday crawls yielded the following waste of space...

Games, $1.99 each:

- ToeJam & Earl SGen cart

- JoeJam & Earl: Panic on Funkotron SGen cart

- Super Mario 64 N64 cart

- CIB Sonic Heroes (Greatest Hits), PS2

- CIB Marvel Ultimate Alliance Special Edition (Greatest hits), PS2

Other stuff:

- BradyGames Cheat Code Explosion book, $0.79

- Mario Kart Wii portfolio, $0.79

- 3DS keychain, $0.49

- Game-Elements XBox controller with retractable cable, $2.99

- 3 CD storage cases, $1.99 each: I'll likely be using these for my TG-16 and PC game collections.

(EDIT: I'm not sure why the pic is showing up sideways. I know I didn't upload it to my MediaFire account like that...)

Today, however, I picked up the following reading material for a little under $16 all told:

Magazines:

- PSM #s 37, 42, 54

- Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine Vol. 3, #2

- GameInformer 240

- GamePro 118, 143

- Game Players 73, featuring a "First Look at the Nintendo ULTRA 64!" I always dig finding back issues of more obscure gaming periodicals...

Versus Books guides:

- Completely Unauthorized Final Fantasy VII Ultimate Guide (no posters)

- Official Pokemon Special Monica Edition Perfect Guide: Hey Shadz, whattaya make of this?  Wink

- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Official Perfect Guide: good lord, how many different strats were published for the N64 version of this game? ? ?  I think this is the fourth in my collection...

Official Nintendo Player's Guides:

- StarFox 64

- 007 GoldenEye

Etc.:

- BradyGames Final Fantasy IX

- BradyGames Pokemon Stadium

- Working Designs Lunar Silver Star Story Complete

Aaaand...

Prima Guides:

- Tactics Ogre

- Ogre Battle

- Madden '06

- Fable

- Lost Planet 2

- Breath of Fire

- Quest 64

That's quite a fire hazard I picked up right there, yes-no?

Then there was one of the sweetest non-gaming pick-ups ever:

I found it hidden in the Savers magazine rack where I found some of the mags pictured above. While I have the original Japanese Space Battleship Yamato series 1 & 2 soundtracks on CD, I was pretty stoked to discover they did a western "limited archival release" as well. This is some of the best background music ever, even if some of it is decidedly stuck in the '70s. Now if they'd only release the original, uncut Japanese Yamato series on DVD stateside; I can handle the extra violence and mature themes now, thank you very much.

Well, that's about it for now. But before I go, I'll leave you with this last piddly little score:

That's right, I'm now using 2010s mobile phone technology!

Pretty cool, huh, guys!

Um... guys?

You... you still there?

*Sigh* I'm so alone...   :'(
