Hey now!
I did a thrift-crawl today that covered two Salvation Armies, two Savers, nine Goodwills, and the local Rasputin's.
Almost all of them yielded something of interest:

- 14 back issues of
GameInformer magazine, $4.00: If RFGen's Brazil contingent is wondering where their rainforest went to, it's presently residing in my bookcase. I am kinda bummed, however, that all but a couple of these back issues have a corner of the cover torn off where the original owner's shipping addy used to be.

Hardware:
- Teal game Boy Color, $7.99: Oddly enough, I found this out in the open in the odds-n-ends section of a nearby Goodwill, rather than the locked glass showcase.
- Pink DS Lite,
$6.99 $4.89: The GBA part works, but it's unable to read DS cards.
- Cabela's Top Shot Elite light rifle for PS3, $2.49: Not only was this cheaper than the one for the 360 I bought last week, it also has its scope.
Games:
- Four SNES carts for $0.99 each, including
Lufia and the Fortress of Doom, Brain Lord, and two of
Super Mario World.
-
Phix: The Adventure (with manual in bare jewel case) for PS1, $1.99: SPoiler Alert! The hero is saved by this guy at the end of the game:

- CIB
Samba de Amigo for Wii with boxed Samba-Samba maracas set,
$9.99 $7.99: this is the third complete
Samba de Amigo game-and-maracas set I own, along with the North American and Japanese Dreamcast versions.
Speaking of Dreamcast, this bad boy was easily the biggest grab of the day:

- Boxed keyboard for Dreamcast, $19.99: Does anyone know if this came with an instruction manual at all? 'Cuz this is just a wrapped keyboard in a box. Judging from the fact it's still wrapped, I doubt this was ever actually used. For a moment I debated over whether or not to get this. My cheap sensibilities told me this was a bit too pricey, but another part of me told me I was unlikely to get another opportunity like this. Guess which part won out?
Now before you breathe a sigh of relief that I didn't pick up any of "that
Skylanders crap he's always annoying us with," I'm afraid I hafta disappoint you

I took advantage of Tar-Jay's special on
Skylanders Giants starter packs, and picked up the 3DS set for $39.99. I was hoping they had a similar deal for the Portal Owner's starters, but they were still $59.99. Kinda weird if you ask me.
But the weirdest thing was Best Buy's
Skylanders promotion, where you got a free
Skylanders Giants mini lunchbox tin with the purchase of a starter kit. I asked a rep if they sold the tin separately, and she told me she'd check. A few moments later she came back and said yes they did...
...for just $19.99.
Needless to say, whomever is in charge of best Buy's pricing needs to lay off the pipe.
Finally, I picked up some mystery goodies for a couple RF Gen denizens. You'll find out about those later.
Nighters...
