Damn Gina! Nice pick ups Fokakis! Hopefully your next 5 are as awesome.  Now go thank baby Moses for the awesome score by carrying his ass around all over the place in Bible Adventures Wink

Thanks moonraker, When I get my package from GamerNick, that will put me over.  By the time I get that package, I will probably already have over 300. Oh and I love your avatar, I grew up on the Misssissippi Gulf Coast, and I couldn't wait for Mardi Gras, because of all the free Moon Pies

@GamerNick, Yeah I hate when I go and find awesome stuff, and I can't seem to buy all of it.  Here is to hoping it is still waiting for you.

Thanks! Who knows I see a lot of them out here!  I hope we find your package I am not worried as it is some where and if I still worked for the airlines I would so fly out there, rent a car and go there myself haha!

Picked up Skylanders Giants Starter Kit, Wrecking Ball (Series 2), Trigger Happy (Series 2), and Pop Fizz from Target today. Sadly, my wife's Skylanders purchases are the only reason I've spent anywhere near as much as I have on books this year. You'd think I was a book collector instead of a video game collector at this point, but with all of the thrift stores either pricing their titles are $5+ for anything or not having anything at all, books are all I have now in the area.

I went to the largest Goodwill in the Central Florida region. It's a distribution center, and even has a huge warehouse for trucks. They even have a side-store where they sell clothing at $1/pound. Yet, they only had ONE game that wasn't accidentally mixed in with CDs - Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 for PS3. WTF?! #@$@# Shopgoodwill.com. Instead, we spent ~$50, got some decent clothing, and I got all of this for books:

OMFG STRATEGY GUIDES...and a Nintendo Power that they priced the same as a paperback instead of a magazine, bastards.

Hardcover Books - I'm another step closer towards swapping out my Redwall books into hardcovers, and I'm picking up Dune books now

More paperback fodder for the Forgotten Realms, Dune, and Warhammer series:

Shadow, I think it's pretty funny the Sims 2 Pets has its own guide. One of our nearby thrift stores always seems to have several of those Rainbow Six guides, I keep telling myself I don't need them.

I've passed up tons and tons of Blizzard strategy guides. World of Warcraft guides pop up like candy.

Sadly I'm one of those brainwashed zombie WoW players, but I always pass up on the strategy guides.  They're about pointless with how fast things change within the game between patches and fixes.  Now the art books, manga, and novels, I'll pick those up.

Hey now!

I did a thrift-crawl today that covered two Salvation Armies, two Savers, nine Goodwills, and the local Rasputin's.

Almost all of them yielded something of interest:

- 14 back issues of GameInformer magazine, $4.00: If RFGen's Brazil contingent is wondering where their rainforest went to, it's presently residing in my bookcase. I am kinda bummed, however,  that all but a couple of these back issues have a corner of the cover torn off where the original owner's shipping addy used to be.

Hardware:

- Teal game Boy Color, $7.99: Oddly enough, I found this out in the open in the odds-n-ends section of a nearby Goodwill, rather than the locked glass showcase.

- Pink DS Lite, $6.99 $4.89: The GBA part works, but it's unable to read DS cards.

- Cabela's Top Shot Elite light rifle for PS3, $2.49: Not only was this cheaper than the one for the 360 I bought last week, it also has its scope.

Games:

- Four SNES carts for $0.99 each, including Lufia and the Fortress of Doom, Brain Lord, and two of Super Mario World.

- Phix: The Adventure (with manual in bare jewel case) for PS1, $1.99: SPoiler Alert! The hero is saved by this guy at the end of the game:

Roll Eyes

Speaking of which:

- CIB Mega Man X4 (Greatest Hits) and Mega Man X6 for PS1, $2.49 each

Aaand...

- CIB Madden '09 All-Play for Wii, $1.99

- CIB NFL 2K2 for XBox, $0.99

- Star Ocean: 'Til the End of Time (Greatest Hits)(no manual) for PS2, $4.99 $3.99

- Shinobi cart for Game Gear, $1.99

- CIB Samba de Amigo for Wii with boxed Samba-Samba maracas set, $9.99 $7.99: this is the third complete Samba de Amigo game-and-maracas set I own, along with the North American and Japanese Dreamcast versions.

Speaking of Dreamcast, this bad boy was easily the biggest grab of the day:

- Boxed keyboard for Dreamcast, $19.99: Does anyone know if this came with an instruction manual at all? 'Cuz this is just a wrapped keyboard in a box. Judging from the fact it's still wrapped, I doubt this was ever actually used. For a moment I debated over whether or not to get this. My cheap sensibilities told me this was a bit too pricey, but another part of me told me I was unlikely to get another opportunity like this. Guess which part won out?

Now before you breathe a sigh of relief that I didn't pick up any of "that Skylanders crap he's always annoying us with," I'm afraid I hafta disappoint you  Grin:

I took advantage of Tar-Jay's special on Skylanders Giants starter packs, and picked up the 3DS set for $39.99. I was hoping they had a similar deal for the Portal Owner's starters, but they were still $59.99. Kinda weird if you ask me.  hmm

But the weirdest thing was Best Buy's Skylanders promotion, where you got a free Skylanders Giants mini lunchbox tin with the purchase of a starter kit. I asked a rep if they sold the tin separately, and she told me she'd check. A few moments later she came back and said yes they did...

...for just $19.99.  speechless

Needless to say, whomever is in charge of best Buy's pricing needs to lay off the pipe.

Finally, I picked up some mystery goodies for a couple RF Gen denizens. You'll find out about those later.  Wink

Nighters...

I need to stop looking at Skylander stuff, else I'm going to be disowned by my game hunting companion.  Some of the figures just amuse me in a "This would look fun on a shelf" sort of way though....   gah.  But, Yay for cheap PS1 Mega Man games!   If I could only be that lucky.  /jealous

I wouldn't disown you.  I am interested in the Zelda exclusive stuff on there that we saw at gamers.

I went on down to Tampa Bay yesterday for some beach weather and decided to hit my old hunting grounds, the Oldsmar Flea Market.  One booth in particular I wanted to see if it was still there has a big Nintendo logo sign hanging over it run by a couple named Rita and Jim.  They do all sorts of games, atari, all forms of sega, coleco, intellivision, Odyssey2, modern, all nintendos and their stuff is always in great shape.  I haven't been to this market in 7 years and as soon as I walked in Rita recognised me immediately.  I was shocked.  We started talking and and I ended up with a Zelda 2 with box, and a sealed Bomberman Hero.  She originally had 25 on Zelda but since there was no instuctions and the box was a bit worn she made it 15.  She had  25 on bomberman, but since she was so glad I had remembered them them and came back she gave me both for $30. I was very happy to see the relationship I built up so long ago was still remembered. I will definitely be going back whenever I am in the area.
