Much love for the Gauntlet series & Mega Man 2 was rented many times over as a kid, but Deadly Towers may be the game that knocks Silent Service off the boards as the most talked about bad game.   Make this happen people.

Sorry, I've beaten Deadly Towers, but Silent Service? Not so much.

Irony?  I picked up a loose Golgo 13 NES cart when I was a kid and spent too long trying to figure out the controls.  The game became a thorn, and maybe my cart was just messed up, but I snicker and groan when I see Duke's avatar 20+ yrs later.  That game literally went unplayed nearly the entire time I had it.

Burning those damn bells was so aggravating in Deadly Towers.

Looking for CIB NES games..........even Silent Service.
I once made the mistake of smelling a NES cart.  Man, the last guy that blew in it must have had bad breath, because it smelled like a sack full of assholes.

Well, I haven't fired up Deadly Towers yet but I can confirm that I can't stand Silent Service...I got it for Christmas one year, and I can't remember exactly what awesome games I asked for, but none of them were Silent Service!

Golgo 13 is the kind of game I would have hated as a kid. As an adult I love it though. Other than one specific part in the last maze I love right through.

All this talk of Golgo 13 and I didn't buy it today. I already own the first one!

Instead I bought something much better.

Not a bad day at the local game store. Today, I actually kept with my recent theme (last week, I picked up "Advanced Dungeons and Dragons: Heroes of the Lance") and picked up "Advanced Dungeons and Dragons: Pool of Radiance" and "Advanced Dungeons and Dragons: Dragon Strike". I didn't steal them by any stretch of the imagination, but I didn't pay Ebay prices either ($35 total).

Picked up Obscure: Aftermath on the PSP today for $1 whilst getting a game for my boy.  I'm not taking a pic of it because it's a damn PSP game in a generic Gamestop case.  I may go back soon because they still had a few PSP games, which is cool.  Strange, too, considering that the PS2 games were gone (though they still might have had a few systems for sale).

Another kijiji pick up this morning. Grabbed these for $16. I already own all 3 Xenosaga games (and love them!), but these are all condition upgrades for me. He also didn't make any mention of the guide, but asked if I wanted it so I said "heck yes I would!" Definitely a nice little surprise Smiley

Met up with a guy this morning to pick up a 2600 'Vader' with 13 games that a guy on Craigslist listed as a "Non-Working 2600 With games" for only $10. I figured for that price it would be worth a shot to fix it.

When I got it the thing was absolutely filthy both inside and outside the system. So I took it apart and gave it a good cleaning. Hooked up the system after cleaning it first and nothing happened when I switched the power on.

So I did a few tests to see what was going on. Hooked up my Digital Multimeter and the power supply was outputting power so I thought the system itself was toast. I did however notice their was light corrosion on the prongs of the power supply and the end that plugs into the system, simply took a emery cloth to clean and scuff the contacts for a better connection and boom the system worked after a simple clean of the power supply contacts.

Anywho the games include

Phoenix
x2 Pole Position
x2 Space Invaders
Pac-Man
Ms. Pac-Man
RealSports Tennis
Space Jockey
Spider Man
Dig Dug
The Official Carnival
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

Sweet deal for $10, I believe that's what I paid for my Vader as well.  Sadly, as much of a 2600 nut as I am, I have 43 systems, but do not own a heavy 6-er.  Blasphemy, I know.

Nice score with the Xenosaga games Crabby. That's an awesome deal for three cool games and the guide.

Razor, sweet looking 2600. For $10 I'd say you did really well.
