So would it be considered a re release?

EDIT:  Whoops, I see where you said it was never officially released, so that would make it a release.

argue

It makes my copy a prototype now - that's a good thing, right?
Also, that means the database doesn't support it. Time to go remove it.

It might as well have been a proto as broken as that version is.

Yeah, that NES Play Action Football manual will go nicely with a box  Wink.  I just mailed your stuff out, check your email.  I don't think those games Duke got are considered repros, because the person who put them out has the rights to it.  I know Duke and the other guys brought up this same subject on a recent  Collectorcast episode.

To answer this properly,
If you know the history of Cheetahmen II, it was found in a warehouse and was never officially released. The game isn't entirely playable - there's a crash trying to load one of the Cheetahmen sprites. The owners of the rights for the Cheetahmen title ran a crowd sourcing effort to "release" a patched version of the game on a physical cartridge (essentially, a cash crab on releasing the already patched ROM on a donor cart).

I'm not bitter to know that a fixed version exists - just that it was an obvious cash grab from the people with the rights. There was no credit given to the people who originally patched it, AFAIK.

In my opinion this (Cheetahmen II) is an official release, and meets all the definitions of being so.

I agree, too. I also agree that it's a very obvious cash grab. The prices on the "collections" they offer are offensive.

Can't disagree with the cash grab argument. I wouldn't have gotten "The Creation" if it wasn't a deal in the Kickstarter.

Okay. Here's what I ended up with tonight. There was quite a bit of hardware (NES Control Deck CIB, NES Advantage CIB, NES Zapper CIB, Game Boy CIB, loose NES control deck, loose SNES control deck) and some assorted games both my friend and I had that we're gonna sell to recoup some of what we spent.

Castlevania III is in brilliant shape. II is nearly as good, aside from a tiny crease in the top center of the box.

Mario 2 is just as nice as the Castlevania 3. Somehow, I didn't own a copy of it before tonight.

Castlevania Adventure might be the nicest game of the lot. Looks practically new. Can't decide whether to keep or sell it...

Some of the more notable Nintendo Powers. Issue #2 and #4, Final Fantasy Guide, etc.

The rest of the Nintendo Powers.

Awesome Finds! I am jealous of those Castlevania boxed games.
