Got this too, only posting it here because I want to elicit comments from a certain someone   Wink

Too cheap to spring for a Hail-Fire, huh?

Anyhoo: sorry I haven't been around lately, folks....

It was a gift, thank you very much.

And speaking of not being around, I think its about time for your performance review....

Nice. I almost bought a HP 38 the other day, but decided to hold out for a 48GX.

Thrift store stops tonight.  Not much in the way of gaming, but pretty sweet flashback finds for me.

An 80's G.I. Joe puzzle for $0.50 and I hope it's complete.  I stopped at one place and found a Star Trek: A Final Unity Collector's Edition (#d to 30,000) for the PC in the plastic case.  It's missing the poster and communicator.  Then, coincidentally or I should shave my head like Patrick Stewart, I drove to another store and found the original cardboard release CIB.  Strange.  I'm not a huge Trekkie, but I had to get both.  A couple of SFII VHS's for display.  The PC games are King's Quest V and The Dig, and a loose Saturn game was a surprise when I found Myst in a CD rack.

The buy I was happiest to find locally was the Exorcist book.  Already in my library are two copies, both signed by William Peter Blatty, but one was missing the original dust jacket from 1971.  I guess you could say I achieved another CIB, and it's so awesome!  For a horror movie fanatic, The Exorcist was groundbreaking.  And Part III, when Mr Blatty returned to the franchise to write the screenplay, was...ah...goosebumps rising.....

GamerNick and I went out to kill some time before he made his "small" score yesterday.  Half Price Books, and a Gamers location were on the menu for the morning.  I ended up finding some goodies at both stores, and some packages arrived in the mail as well.

First up are things I picked up on the hunt...  as well as a copy of Einhander bought for me by Nick to repay me for some games I picked up for him a while back.

Next we have things that Nick was great enough to pass on to me from his giant score!  Most of these were doubles he got in the lot, or already had and didn't need.

Some loose carts...

And a whole bunch of Boxed NES stuff!

And some empty boxes, some with manuals , to go with loose carts I already have.   and a Castlevania manual to replace my crappy one!

Thanks again to Nick for this huge boost to my NES collection, and now I have a load of cleaning, sticker removal, and cataloging to do...   weeeeeehaw!

I second what GrayGhost81 said.  Also, are the stickers coming off the boxes with ease?  I have an extra Captain Skyhawk if you need it.........

I once made the mistake of smelling a NES cart.  Man, the last guy that blew in it must have had bad breath, because it smelled like a sack full of assholes.

Most of the stickers are coming off, some with a little work.  Some, as seen on the Milon's Secret Castle box I have probably won't come off unless you set it on fire Cheesy   But for the most part they're coming off easily. One or two of them have weird little rental slip pouches, those are a bitch.   There were some that were triples or quads (Xexyz, good god).  So no, I didn't get ALL of them.
