^great haul! I meant to mention that Tennis game in my Virtua Tennis write-up. I remember being blown away at the realistic look of that game at a kiosk in Circuit City back in the day. But damn, you got some great CIB stuff man. Dragon's Lair is a must of course, but Strip Poker? Wow. That's hilarious and awesome. Oh and I've heard that version of Tetris is pretty great with it's FMV backgrounds.

was happy to find a PAL (blue swirl) Dreamcast controller today in the wild... boxed. And minty, as in steal wrapped in plastic for $14. Not a steal, but about online prices minus shipping.

- Madden NFL '07 (sealed) $0.95: I never had a PSP Madden game in my collection before, so I figured for what they were asking, why not? And it's still sealed, which means it'll fetch even more big bucks when it inevitably becomes a highly sought-after collector's item! 

Also got (both CIB):

- State of Emergency for PS2, $1.95
- Nights: Journey of Dreams for Wii, $3.95

In non-gaming small scores, I picked up three Ranma 0.5 soundtrack/song collection CDs and a DragonBall Z Best Collection CD for $2.00 each.

And while the asking prices for games at the local thrifts have been going up, the Nerf guns are another story (yay). I managed to pick up the Mad Max-esque barrel break and the M.A.S.K.-esque Deploy CS-6, each setting me back a paltry $1.99.

This is what I received in a trade with Mr. Razor Knuckles. He stated that he had a surplus of type-1 Genesis machines, and I was looking to trade my type-2 for one. Needless to say, he was game-- er, so to speak. That Sonic cap is pretty much brandy new, and even has the tag still attached to it. And the man knows how to hook a 7-11 maven up, lemme tell ya. Thanks, big guy.

But the biggest of my small scores was this:

My dad found this in a parking lot a few days ago, and gave it to me. He musta figured it didn't have much of anything on it, which I also thought was most likely the case. But just to be sure, I went online to check its balance, and was shocked to discover it had $100.00 on it! I've already used most of it to preorder the Skylanders Giants portal owner's starter set for the Wii, and I'll likely use the remaining balance to buy some of the new Skylanders figures when they hit the shelves.

So, howzabout the rest of ya's?

I went back to the local shop that I bought all the Famicom games and they mentioned needing some hardware. I brought in an extra Famicom and Famiclone and they treated me really well, giving me all these in exchange:

Scored myself Sonic 3 Complete in Box! Plugged it into my Sonic and Knuckles and went to town.

So for many, many, many months now singlebanana has been gathering NES carts for me locally when he finds things I need for my licensed set. I finally got around to paying the poor guy for all his hard work and he sent it my way. Boy did he do well for me! And to top it off he sent me a truck-load of extras, some of which are extremely thoughtful.

I did a blog post waaaaay back about games that were important to me or had somehow shaped my gaming habits. I mentioned my earliest gaming memory as a 2600 game called Frostbite. He noticed that my collection was without said game and made sure to fix that for me. In addition to that he has been bugging me for some time about getting into famicom collecting and tucked a famicom converter and a copy of Flappy in my already overflowing box of amazingness so that I would no longer have any excuses.

And to go even further he sent me some toys for my son based his interests in past conversations we've had. We're really lucky to have members here like singlebanana and I cant wait to return the favor for him down the road.
