When I was 12 my bike's front tire came off mid-jump, leading to a concussion.  When I woke up the next morning in the hospital it was to a taped birth on the TV in my room.  It was literally the first thing that my eyes focused on, after awaking from a bruise to my frontal lobes.  Yes, it was scary as shit.  Years later, when my son was born, it was like the scene from Alien with the C-Section birth, but not traumatic in the least.  Big difference between ages 12 and 23.

I've seen a c-section birth on some basic cable surgery/operation show back in the day, and for some reason I didn't find it nearly as disturbing as a so-called "natural" birth.

BTW anybody ever see Christmas Evil, with Fiona Apple's dad in the starring role? Rather disappointing, with a bizarrely nonsensical ending.

No, but Silent Night, Deadly Night 5 with Mickey Rooney as the evil toy maker will flip your damn wig.

Speaking of traumatic videos. My roomate convinced me to watch "a siberian film" with him and his girlfriend one night. THAT was traumatizing. Not only the movie but the awkwardness in the room during some of the scenes. Such a fucked up movie

We're watching The Frighteners tonight. Not really what I'd classify as a "scary" movie, but a decent flick never-the-less.

Watched The Shining and Rosemary's Baby this week. Probably do The Exorcist tonight. Those are really the only three horror movies I actually find worth watching more than once.

You mean "A Serbian Film" right? A few years ago I was on a kick of watching really disturbing movies and even though that one popped on to my radar I skipped it because it looked like too much.

We watched The Innocents last night. Creepy older flick I watched in a film class. Fit well with the month.

Turner Classic Movies have been running black and white horror films off and on for the past month.  I've been watching as many as I can without my wife losing her shit.  I did miss out on Haxan which I've wanted to see for years now but for some reason just can't find the time to sit down and watch.  It came on at midnight as I was going to sleep and I couldn't make it any further than 20 minutes into the movie before I passed out.

Freaks is going to be on This Wednesday I think, so I'm going to set my DVR up to record that.  It's another one like Haxan that I've really wanted to see but just couldn't find the time.

Finally got a hold of Frankenstein's Army. My fears of torture-porn were totally unfounded. This is a really fun, purposely schlocky monster movie. Highly recommended for those seeking a "fun" horror movie. It starts pretty slow, but is totally worth it. The creatures are all really cool. Even my wife thought it was awesome.
