A forgotten game...

Okay, so I'm having a bit of an issue today. There was a game I had for PC a while back and I can't remember the name of it. Maybe someone here can help.
I don't remember too much, but here is what I do remember.
It was for PC, not for DOS I remember running it on Windows XP with no issues.
It was a first person Action RPG.
I remember it starting out with being in a graveyard like area and then you end up in a crypt fighting a lot of skeletons (I know not very descriptive). I remember it did have an action bar like most PC rpgs do. Shoot I can't even really put my finger on what was on the cover.
I don't think it was click to move, I think it used common keyboard controls. In the center of the crypt room was a giant pillar like thing and I think I remember a boss being up there. I did not get too far into the game but have been really curious to play it again.
If I had to guess time period it would be around 2000 - 2005 when I had played the game, and it couldn't have been too old since I don't think it ran on DOS
Feel free to just spew names of games and hopefully someone will be able to help me here. Its hurting my head because I can't figure out the name of it.

Give me a moment - I know the exact game. Just need to remember the name.
EDIT: Painkiller. Initial stage is the Graveyard where you're fighting skeletons, though it's more of an FPS. Here's some video footage of the individual levels in a speedrun:

Close, i remember it being a sword and shield game, may have been one of those hunt down the devil type games. Graphics were very similar though.

No still not it. I've been searching the suggestions to double check them...
I remember that every bit of the game that I played, except for the first maybe 20 minutes when its in the graveyard above ground area, all of the game was underground. It may have been a crypt or may have been a journey through hell. and no it's not diablo, that much I do know.
I really appreciate the suggestions, I'm just having a really hard time remembering what this game is. These games are on the right track graphics wise but not the right game.

Sure it wasn't Medievil?
Description is vague enough that it was my first though.... Could have been a PC game via emulation if you are one of those types.

Yeah it was definitely PC. I had the game and the guide for it I know that much. It wasn't Medievil. It was a first person sword/shield/magic rpg. Haha this is driving me nuts trying to figure out what this is. I'm about this close | | to just looking at a list of PC rpgs and going title by title until I find it haha. Thanks for all the help guys!

I mean if you know the year it probably wouldn't be too hard to just do that.

Thats the thing. I know around when I played it. But I got the game at a yard sale. So I'm doing just that. Starting at that general time period and going from there. I'll be sure to let everyone know what it was when I find it haha.

Hmm, well if your really desperate to find it you can try going through the first person RPG PC games section of Moby, year by year in reverse from 2005 until you find it...

Moby's layout really went downhill with their last update. Now it's almost impossible for me to use it for my wants/needs/curiosity, but they now have a collection tool that basically mirrors ours.
