The things that come into game stores...

For those of you who don't know, I'm an assistant manager for a retro game store in south jersey. The Sargent in charge of the toys for tots program in our area just walked in with 4 sealed Pokemon Red and 3 sealed Mario Kart 64...said the casinos donated them to him. Anyone else with crazy stories like this from their game store? Anyone want a sealed Pokemon Red / Mario Kart 64?

He acknowledged that needy kids wont necessarily have a game boy or an N64...as if you are needy, both of those systems are harder to come by and prohibitively expensive.

If memory serves we had to state no videogames when i helped run the Toys for Tots event we did in college.
For the same reasons listed. If they are going to families who are impoverished they probably are not going to have a video game system lying around.

You should eBay them keep a portion and call up the sarge and give him some cash or toys purchased with the remainder.

I think I've told the story on the air but a friend of mine who still works at Best Buy got a bunch of free Saturn games when someone came in to drop them off for electronics recycling.  Panzer Dragoon Saga, Guardian Heroes, etc.
