The episode is live via the normal places. The YouTube version is still processing... so patience.

No video in this one, just not a "standard" show.

I'm sure the front page will be updated soon, but yes, this is our BioShock Infinite spoiler cast.

I've gone beyond the point of no return. Never played the series before but it seems I might have to (and pop some Dramamine).

As Bil mentioned about running to discuss the story with his wife, I've had those moments too with games and I think discussing the story helps you make sense of what happened and what you experienced. It allowed me to bring all the pieces together into some coherent.

I echo Crabby's comment regarding POV. In the first person I automatically feel like that's supposed to be me. In the third person I see the character so I think, "OK the story is about this guy and I can respond to the world in the context of this guy."

Duke even said "they're rowing you" so it's assumed that you are the character (having Booker see his reflection in the water doesn't break immersion for me) so the game should allow you to react to things the way you would. Not incorporating that is a pitfall in my opinion. In the third person it's easier to put yourself in the character's shoes. So it's more possible to act as you're expected to. (Why I had no problem shooting the doctors in the hospital in The Last of Us.)

I have a feeling that this game and The Last of Us and going to be compared and contrasted quite a bit here especially considering that they both strived for immersion into a world that is its own character using different techniques.

I have noticed that killed enemies do disappear quite quickly and are replaced by lock boxes on the pc version the same as on PS3 as Crabby reported.

I listened to it today.

It was mostly confusing as I haven't played Bioshock Infinite.

A while back they talked about this game, I particularly remember the disscusion on the music, on Wired's Gamelife podcast. It was one of these two episodes I think (both have Bioshock talk):

http://downloads.wired.co...io/gamelifereboot_065.mp3

http://downloads.wired.co...io/gamelifereboot_066.mp3

I bet you guys would enjoy listening to them, although, that was all the way back in March and April and a couple hundred podcast's ago for me, my memory is a little fuzzy on them, so I'm making no promises on how much you'd like them  Wink

And Bil, don't be so shy man. If you have something to say, speak up. I know Crabmaster hardly lets you get a word in but maybe if you talk to him off air....

I finished the Spoilercast last night and must say that I really enjoyed it. Sounds like a really deep game if you tune into the subtleties.

Duke mentioned the Songbird theory, and I want to know his take on the matter. I watched the video he alluded to so, Duke, do you think that if you can hear Songbird's screech in BioShock and Infinite that these two games happening alongside one another? Are they two parallel timelines (sort of like what Lost did with the flash forwards?). I know there was a lot of time between the development of the two games, so it could be a serendipitous coincidence but do you think the theory is possible?
