Yup.  Down $50 which will push the pre-owned price down and SHOULD push craigslist prices down a bit.  I'm getting closer...

And with the announcement of Borderlands 2 coming, I might just have to play Vita again lol

Definitely wasn't expecting that.  With around 100 hours in that game already, I'd really love it if they figured a way to link your current progress to the Vita version.  Might be possible since PSN and Steam have a previous relationship with Portal 2 having a similar setup.

I'm under contractual obligation to comment in this thread.

Buy a Vita.

I still think this is too high, but it certainly can't hurt. $100 was definitely the right price for me.

this is about the price it should have launched at, or dropped to much sooner. still think this is a reasonable price though considering the 3DS is only $30 cheaper (or the same if you go for the XL). if you're buying new and not waiting for a super cheap deal or used, this is a good price.

I think that's where I'm at for most handhelds.  Bought my DS lite at $119 and my Zelda 3DS for $119.

I splurged on my black 3DS XL last week, but I'm not regretting it even now knowing this Vita news. I do think it's about time that handhelds got a price cut, because I think they're expensive for what they are. For the longest time I firmly believe (and still kind of do) that if a handheld can be bought for around $200 one might as well spend the extra bit of money for a full HD console.

It looks like I'll be buying a Vita on Black Friday this year.  $200 with a couple games and a memory card will get me to buy it.  I've been wanting to play through P4:G for a while now.

Read that a price cut should be coming for Vita memory cards, too, although I don't know what the new prices will be.

Considering that the PSP retailed for AU$300+ pretty much until its demise, AU$270 for an 18-month old Vita is a vast improvement.  That said, I really need to wait until I can get a Vita + memory card (probably 8gb min) for $300 before I can justify the expense.

EDIT: PS Vita + 16gb memory card for AU$304.  Close enough!

I've been wanting to play through P4:G for a while now.

Can relate- bought my copy a couple of months back.  Now it's a case of *when* I get a Vita, not *if* anymore.

About freaking time Sony. At least now the Vita costs the same as the 3DS XL. Good timing too since Ys Celceta comes out next month, which might actually be incentive for me to pull the Vita out again since I've seriously neglected it since Persona 4 Golden.

Now they need to lower the price of the memory cards. The memory cards are one of the main reasons so many people buy a 3DS over the Vita. The secondary costs are what's hurting the Vita's base, not so much the lack of games. Although I also kinda want video output as well, something I liked about the PSP over the Nintendo DS.

^They did lower the price of memory cards.  The 32gb is now $80, which is still outrageously expensive.
