Buying Lots
«

When buying lots, I've noticed there is no guarantee that everything will be in good shape. I had purchased a 25lb box of sega genesis stuff a while back for 25$, and a decent portion of the games weren't in the greatest shape. Missing pins, screwed up label, etc. So my question is, what do you all do with the games when you get really poor condition items in a lot such as missing pins torn label, etc.? This does not include when you buy on ebay and the auction says everything is in good condition because then the obvious answer is contact the seller.

Put together your own lot for later.

Thats what i was thinking about doing even if i only made a couple bucks. Some of these really aren't in the best condition but i guess its worth the shot.

I find that those types of things also make amazing filler in other lots you put together, since it helps pad it out even at little to no cost and makes people more interested, since there's more to be had.

I didn't think of that! I thought you were saying to have one huge junk lot, not necessarily a filler to slowly spread around to others. I like it!

I'll pick up lots for a few select games and put the rest in my trade bin. I'll use the rest as others described trade-in or padding on another lot I'm selling.

This. It seems to make consoles move more quickly on Amazon as well.
Or even give them away.

Send the fillers to other members. That's what I have done. As long as the game is playable, it's bound to make someone happy.

Trade fodder or give-away fodder (like Zag and Techie have done). Personally I usually keep the fodder (or give it away to friends), as I usually care more for playability than visual appeal. I gave away a bunch of doubles and fodder yesterday to a friend who just bought a NES off ebay.
