Scans of old video game ads
«

The Wife has a good chunk of old comic books, mostly Fantastic Four from the 80's and 90's. Every once in awhile I remember they have ads for video games in them.
Time to start a new thread
I'm going to put more scans up from time to time. You should too. They aren't necessarily every ad, or the most exciting ads, or in order, or sized proportionally, or anything else. They're just a few scans from a random few comic books I grabbed from one of the boxes of books.
Enjoy!

Those are pretty neat. I liked the Turbo Duo comic strip and the Exile on the Turbo SuperCD ones especially. One page had a review of, "Playing MUD's on the Internet" I looked it up on Amazon, too much $
That one at the bottom for, "Win! the Ultimate Gaming Rig!!" has a PC which looks exactly like the first new PC I bought (and still have), the specs are a bit ahead of my machine but the form factor is spot on.

Haha, I scrolled thru your link. Lots of good stuff. The last page had that contest of winning "The Ultimate Gaming Rig". The mystery phrase was always POWER.

Here's some more. Feel free to comment more too so I don't have to fill up the thread with just tons of large scans

That's some awesome stuff! Which conveniently brings me to my question, does anyone of someplace other than ebay to buy the old Nintendo insert ads that folded out into a poster? I mainly looking for this one:

NintendoAge would be your best bet. There are a few people that that will bulk sell just the inserts.

Don't mine me filling up this thread with a ton of huge pictures bogging down peoples internet. Or in other words, sorry if you have a slow connection and want to look at these. I want to make sure they are big enough to read.

I had to actually pull out a few comic books from the '86-87 era to find
any
video game ads at all. It was that post-crash time period, I wondered what I would find, not much
On the other hand, once you get into the thick of the NES time, comics were just filthy with game ad's. 5 of them in one book alone.

Loving these ads Nupoile. You know, you could submit these as Extra Media for the ones that are specific to a game and system. Just reference where the ad came from in the Extra Media description.
