I did.

The Walking Dead, and I'm furious.

I am such a fucking idiot, I could kick my own ass right now.

I popped the game in tonight, and was light "damn my 360 is loud." I though maybe I should try to stand it vertical instead. Yup. With the disc in and spinning cuz I'm a moron. So I loaded up my save and got a message that the disc was unreadable. I took it out, and it was scratched to shit. Because I'm so stupid.

Oh the pain! Sorry to hear it dude.

Didn't you get it at gamestop? If it was pre-owned just bring it back.

Just unlucky really, I may have done the same. I mean I have done that with a Wii & PS2 in the past without incident with tricky to read games. So I guess the 360 hold the disc in place differently or something...

As for my story, well I used to love playing a Commodore 64 game called Ramparts (a Rampage like game). Problem is the game was a cassette game, and I played it too much... so it wouldn't load anymore. Oh well.

I did get it at Gamestop. New/sealed for $20 cuz of the pricedrop. And I didn't save the receipt. I don't know if I should try to exchange it. That's pretty unethical.

Ouch Sad sorry to hear that noiseredux.

I was trying to look for something on my 360 while my fiancee was playing Fallout New Vegas. Picked the system up and it scratched the shit out of the disc. It was a pretty deep scratch all the way around but was able to get it buffed out.

Gotta love systems like the Gamecube where you actually pop it onto the spindle and the disc is going NOWHERE.

Haven't done that to a game... yet.

But I have done that to a GBA SP... a pearl blue one no less:

I still have nightmares about it some times.

It slipped from my grasp when I bumped into a doorway, and it broke in two upon contact with the hardwood floor.

Fortunately, I managed to scare up a nice replacement for a great price a few months later. But it had become my most-played console at the time, and the withdrawal symptoms after the breakage were brutal.

Dropped my SP a couple times on hard floors never had anything more than a small ding. Seen a Vita fly out my bag onto concrete and get 3 small dings. I really have a hard time believing a small fall shattered a SP. That look like it was broken in half by force or thrown to the ground.

It was from about four feet up. Perhaps it impacted the floor at a critical weak spot.

I forgot to mention that I had an Intec grip accessory on it like this one:

I don't know if it contributed to the breakage, but it managed to survive the impact.

Several months later, I dropped my new GBA SP with the grip on it, but this time the GBA survived and the grip broke.

Some sort of karmic balance at play?

In either case, I'm apparently very clumsy.

I was playing fallout new vegas and the console was on the floor and when I was walking out of the room I walked into the console and the disc must of been moving to fast because the game stopped running and there was a big scratch on it. Amazon was really good about it they sent me another at no extra charge.

That sucks noise Sad

I just picked it up too at the same price, but luckily I have no desire to move my PS3 around while playing it Wink

I accidentally cracked the case of my Zombie Nation cart while cleaning it. That one stung a bit and I'd really like to upgrade it in the future.

While playing a PC game in college on one of the schools computers I broke the disc inside the cd-rom drive.  It must have hit something internal because it was spinning at full speed and then I hear something like shattering glass.  I opened the disc tray and tiny shards just fell out.  The disc was in a thousand tiny shards.  The school had to just replace the cd-rom drive.

By accident no. On purpose a few time. 1 has ended up in my pool. Another a neighbors yard. Plus some I have snapped in half.

Never!  You people may be spawns from hell.  Just kidding, don't believe in hell.  I tend to knock things off the wall while walking by and I have dropped cell phones and a laptop, but never a game.

That's awesome.  At least you destroyed with a bit of variety, which as we are taught is the spice of life.

Have I?  No.  Not even Chronicles of the Sword, and I hate that game.  My buddy did try to destroy our rented import copy of Super Mario Bros. 3 back in '89 by chucking it across the room.  Luckily nothing happened on that front ($200 deposit at the rental store!).

has anyone had any luck with resurfacing discs with toothpaste? I've heard folks swear this works. I'm not even sure I'd know what to do though.
