Welcome to RF Gen! Always good to see another familiar face from Nintendoage.

It looks like your new gameroom is off to a great start, and I'm looking forward to seeing some more pictures.

You call that a burn?

Let me take you down to Fresno in early August, and you'll feel a real burn, my good man.  flamethrower

So ever since I moved into the new house, all I have been doing is cleaning and fixing stuff. My wife has been been doing the same. Who knew a house that was lived in for 4 years by people in their late teens, early twenties would need so much work???  The little time I have left between my job and house work is spend on setting up my game room. I have had zero time to hunt for games or even internet shop since I want to focus on getting set up first.

I figured Id post some pics on how the game room is coming along….

Well in reality absolutely nothing has changed in the game room since I'm redoing all of my game shelves. I decided to paint everything I have black. White walls and black shelves. Simple as that. I wanted the games/posters/items I have to be the focus so I figured that this was the best way to make them "pop"

Its been a long journey so far and I have a ways to go yet…

All my shelves were laminate so its a bit of a process to do it right ( and trust me I still never did an amazing job, the games and posters will cover up my crappy job lol )

Just thought Id share since maybe other people wanted to try this, my advice…. Buy new shelves

So after a few weeks of putting up shelves and redoing my old shelves the new game room is about 95% complete. I still have items to go in and some more shelves/ posters to put up. I thought I'd give an update to show how it looks so far.

So the age old collector question arose when I had to do all this " How do you fit a collection of 1200+ items in a space half the size of the old one?"

My answer - double sided  shelf space

Heres what it looks like when you walk in the door

Snes, Sega G and NES games

Shelf on the left is like my Trophy case with all my gems and the right shelf has Sega CD, 3Do, Neo Geo, N64, Vectrex, Atari 2600 and my more played SNES games

these are my favourite new shelves I just put in. I decided to put all my favourite boxes on these shelves and it just so happens that they were all mostly NES boxes.

The pics might make this room seam cramped but it actually quite roomy.

Let me know what you guys think Smiley

Nice that looks cool as hell. The pics do kinda make it feel cramped. How many can fit when you are gaming? Didn't see a couch or chairs. Impressive box collection as well.

^ 4 people will fit comfortably, I have a futon couch and a brand new "Manager" computer chair. I don't plan on having a lot of people in here. The rest of the basement will be the hang out area. This room is for VIP only Wink

Lookin' good! A video tour of your room would be awesome since you've got everything laid out and displayed in really interesting ways.

awesome collection but i agree i think this would be a good room for a video tour. it's hard to show it off properly on a still camera in a small space when you can't back up far enough to get a lot in one shot. that and video tours are always good anyway Wink

I wonder what Jesus and the Gorton's fisherman are looking at?

Other than that, that's quite a stack of stuff you've built up there. Hope you don't run out of room any time soon.

Fleach and techwiazrd - never considered a video tour. Could be fun though

Zagnorch - Jesus and the Gorton's fisherman are looking at Mask from the Mighty Hercules "OLYMPIAAAAAAAAAA"

single banana -  I got it from 80stees.com 90% of the shirts I wear are from there.
