It's already up for pre-order on Amazon. If I had $400 at the moment I would pull the trigger.

You're silly.

No online required, $399, and I can play used games. I wasn't planning on buying at launch, but I'm a sucker for new technology.

When Sony first released the PSX shortly after the Saturn for a cheaper price... well we all know how that ended. History to repeat?

I used to be too.  I'm trying to be more rational with my purchases in my old age. Saves me more dollars for retro games.

You noticed I said "if" I had $400. Guess where I am putting my money this weekend. Wink

Sony has gotten my vote. Ps3 had a weaker launch than 360 but I think Sony has gotten it right this time. If Microsoft backs off from the online gaming and no used games I think I'd still not buy cause they need to learn a lesson for not being so damn greedy.

Take note and learn dont bite the hands that feed you.

Well you can cancel the preorder.

Also someone said they preordered with an old gift card and still got credit.
That way it would end up declining and they wouldn't have to worry about trying to cancel it lol

I scrolled through the games listed on Bestbuy for preorder. The only things that interested me (with no knowledge of game play) were Halo and Ryse. Halo probably won't be out until 2014 and i have read that Ryse looks like it will be disappointing so i am still not super interested in getting one.

Did catch a few shots from the Sony conference and was HIGHLY amused at them pointing out no DRM and used games would still be there. (Since last i saw they had said those decisions would be up to the pubs/devs)

It may be worth noting that in Australia the price difference is a little less severe.
