all i see are complaints about graphical power and sales. i know gaming is a business, and these are companies that need to make money, but i hate to see people hating a system/company solely due to it's stock value and graphics.

I have no idea what Nintendo thinks it's doing. I think slowly everyone is just getting kind of bored and fed up with them.

Not quite everyone Wink

Do you mean Nintendo now or Nintendo NES/SNES?

I meant I'm still not bored or fed up even though I agree many others are.

I still like what Nintendo is doing for the most part. I'm personally happy that EA is out on the Wii U.

What are they doing right? And how is it good that one the the biggest publishers in the world isn't making games for Nintendo?

I'm with you Crabby, nothing Sony or Microsoft has done recently really excites me. I may quit current gaming when Nintendo exits.

I realize it'll hurt sales, but EA puts out very little that I personally want to buy. Just means less shovelware for me to sift through. I'm not a fan of downloadable games or online play so the fact that Nintendo may be behind in those areas is fine with me. I just want fun and sometimes quirky games. Not sure if this gen will be the same but last time around the Wii was the only one putting out games I wanted to buy with a physical release.

While I agree with you the problem is less support means less sales which means they stop making consoles. Look at the Dreamcast. The kinect has meant lots of shovel ware for the Xbox and it sucks IMO. Put it helped sales so it is good.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all. Its likely bad for the Wii U in the long run, but I'm confident that there will be enough games on it that interest me that I'll stay satisfied  with my purchase.

I'm not going to pretend to know what's going on with the Wii U since I don't have one and never will, but from all accounts I've heard it has very few games and those that it does have suck. It seems like the perfect type of console to let quirky third developer parties design games for, but Nintendo doesn't do that...

It just feels like Nintendo hasn't grasped the fact that it isn't 1984 anymore.

Eh I dunno about the 1984 thing.  Nintendo has always tried to be innovative and in most cases is the leader.  However, to its detriment.  They've stubbornly chosen to go against the grain and ignored most contemporary trends in the industry like oh I dunno, online multi-player games people actually enjoy?

I didn't know Nintendo was still around. Didn't they have this game with a carpenter or something?

Nintendo has so much money in the bank, they can easily muddle along for another two generations.

What Nintendo should do:
- Get out of the hardware business
- Maybe get out of the handheld hardware business, too

Just think about it. Everyone loves the handful of great Nintendo 1st party games. They would sell loads on PS3/360. Everyone loves the handful of great Nintendo handheld games. They would sell boatloads (at a lower price) on smartphones.

This would leave Nintendo with all the software people love but without the hassle of having to make hardware.
