Reading through the original post, I thought this was going to be about going to sales before they start, which I do do on occasion. I've been to some where they have a "no early birds" sign up at the driveway, some where there's a line of the regulars waiting for the sale to start, and others that have no problem letting people check stuff out early, even if they're still setting up. But I've never seen anyone just drive by and shout at the sellers about what they're selling. Aside from someone being physically disabled, I can't imagine there ever being an acceptable reason to do that.
If I come across a "shouter" like that, I'd give them a hot tip about an amazing sale on the other side of town (that doesn't actually exist) just to make them waste some time driving out there for no reason.

I actually don't have a problem with early-birding, when done reasonably and only if you
ask first
before wandering around on the person's property.
Edit: That doesn't apply in "no early-birds" situations.

Tell that to all the people that list that in their adverts, yet I get there right when it opens and they've already sold all the good stuff.

I feel your pain. Money talks I guess.
To be honest I've never tried early-birding a "no early-birds" sale.
It just feels like "What? You don't want my money?"

I think the worst I've seen was from THE SELLER, I was at a sale the other day, asked about some prices and the old fart looked up the prices on Ebay RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, and didn't even know what he was doing in the first place. Tried to get me to pay $10 for three NES controllers, a Zapper, and a power supply that had the cords repaired with Duct Tape.

Yeah, three controllers and a Zapper is pretty good for $10. I'd be charged $10 a controller by the resellers in my area.

same, even if you counted the power supply as free because it's damaged that works out to only $2.50 per controller/zapper, that sounds like a good deal to me

No, I meant all of them were repaired with Duct Tape, in multiple places.

They looked like someone had run the cords over with a mower and pieced them back together, 2-3 "repairs" or more per cord.

i found something new to add to garage sale etiquette. as a seller, don't go to another person's garage sale and advertise your own sale. my sister and i had setup a yard sale this morning and early on, someone came by and browsed around a bit, didn't buy anything. on his way out he passed some other people browsing and started going on to them about how his sale down the street has "tens of thousands of things for sale, i just unpacked 25 boxes and have a thousand more" and "whatever you want, i have it". he went on like this for a good 3 or 4 minutes. this is a new no-no in my books.

I have never yelled out of my car at a yard sale.
I love the hunt. Searching through vcr tapes, dvd's, books, toys. etc. for that unexpected find.
Plus I look for more than just video games. I also look for lego's for my boy. Pink frilly stuff for my daughter. and other stuff that catches my eyes.

It's good to have other things besides video games, especially with how they go so quick. I'm always looking for books, tools, musical instruments and other stuff most of the time too.
I have a mental checklist of things my friends are looking for as well.

I agree with cerv2
I don't go in only to get games only garage sale yard sales flea markets I look at everything and see what catches my eye
The flea market this past Saturday yielded me an Atari 7800 console only.
2 hot wheels 48 car cases for 2.50 ea
The .50 hot wheels bins I found some nice old Lesneys and a red line hot wheel from 68-69.
Other visits I have found 1950s 7Up coolers from 3-10. I pick em up cause they are old and should be worth at least the few $ I'm paying. I'd think at least.
