I recently read a novel about Metal Gear Solid 2 by Raymond Benson. It's basically exactly the story of MGS2, including some 1:1 copies of codec conversations.

I also ready my first EVER "American" comic book. We have different comic books here (they're a different size, too) and so the US Marvel, et al. aren't popular here - or even well known. A friend recently took me to a specialized comic book store that sell these US comics. He had to explain to me the single issue - trade paper back nomenclature. To be honest, I find the single issues completely daft. They're such tiny little things, hardly worth buying imo.

Anyway, I bought Invincible #6. It was in the "damaged" bin at 60% off, which is why I bought it. I was kind of shocked how expensive they are. But it was a fun read.

The American comic book industry just prints money. Speaking of which, Saturday was Free Comic Book Day - anyone pick up theirs?

Unseen Academicals. Its the Discworld's take on football, which coincides quite well with all this World Cup action.

Read the Way of Kings and Words of Radiance. Really great fantasy, I'd argue the most well developed and original fantasy world since Tolkien.

I read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. A couple of years ago I bought a bunch of classic English books for €1 each and I finally got around to reading them. Now I'm reading Persuasion by the same author.

before I stopped buying comics completely, I gave up on the the single monthly issues because everything I read would be collected and reprinted in trade paperback several months later. So I just waited for the TPBs to come out, and bought those instead.

ANYway, lately Cracked.com has put up a few interesting articles on gaming and weird fetishy fanart trends:

I thought #1 was kinda awesome in a cheesy way.
