Just finished the latest book in the Iron Druid series by Kevin Hearne.  Awesome series!  I recommend the audiobooks as the reader does an amazing job.

In The Woods by Tana French

http://www.goodreads.com/.../show/237209.In_the_Woods

Just a pulpy detective novel that I grabbed at random off my wife's shelf because I wasn't in the mood for anything specific. About 100 pages in, and it's starting to get pretty good.

Finished In the Woods last weekend. Very disappointing in the end, I would not recommend it.

About two-thirds through Gateway by Frederik Pohl

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/218427.Gateway

Found this book on many "best sci-fi novels of all time" type lists and so far I cannot disagree. It has a satirical tone I was not expecting, and takes place in a fascinating universe.

Just finished a couple Cracked.com articles, starting with The 6 Most Baffling Video Game Spinoffs.

http://www.cracked.com/ar...-video-game-spinoffs.html

I don't think you Typing of the Dead fanboys are gonna like the writer's take on the game.

I found the grim-&-gritty Bomberman reboot downright baffling... and something to add to my hunt list.

And while you're there, I dare you to check out The 6 Geekiest Sex Toys. 'Cuz I'm not gonna link it here, for reasons that will become obvious.

All I'll say about it is, I have to get off the internet...

...forever.

And stay the hell away from me, you sicko.

He didn't do his research anyway, half the comments were correcting things he screwed up in the Sonic section of the list.

The other half were comments correcting the comments.

And people wonder why I don't believe in anything anymore...

I'm about 7% of the way into The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. I've enjoyed the series but I'm about ready to get back to book 10 of The Wheel of Time. I might also pick up the newest Steven Colbert book. I very much enjoyed "I am America and so Can You".

how are you liking wheel of time so far, and is it your first time reading it? i just finished book 13, my first read through, one day before the final book comes out. if it's your first time going through it, you'll be happy to know it gets much more exciting again from about book 11 and on. it had some definite good parts in the middle books, but overall i wasn't a big fan of books 7-10...parts of 6 were boring too but it finished so epicly that it's hard not to like it.

It is my first time through and my buddy, who got me started on the series, has told me exactly the same thing you just said. I agree that book 7 through most of book 9 was relatively uneventful.

I gave up the series years ago about 10 chapters into book 9. I was super bored and had just discovered Dragonlance about that time.
