I second To The Earth. Also, that's not TMNT I - that's TMNT II. Also also, it should be Hero turtles if it's PAL.
Too bad on the New Ghostbusters II - that's a PAL exclusive. Corvette Challenge would've been a nice rarity to grab too.

Looks like our poster is from overseas, so I don't think PAL is an issue. Wink

Welcome to rfgeneration caligari, enjoy your stay and post more. "The Cabinet of Caligari," which is where I assume your name comes from, is probably my favorite film of the silent era....ah German Expressionism. Smiley

yes, i'm from Belgium, so no problem with the pal, but I also collect NTSC games for NES, and famicom and super famicom.
Thanks! I've been here for awhile now, but never used this board, I really love the database here.

My favorite is actually Nosferatu. But I really need to watch Metropolis I think.

caligari is actually one of our more prolific PAL submitters. Grin
I loved Metropolis myself, but I haven't seen the recently release of the footage.

Cool, thanks for the PAL submissions. Yeah, just be careful with KINO videos, though they have done some good transfers and for a while were one of the only distributors of silent films. I've bought a few of their DVDs where they colorized, basically exchanged the white for a yellow, green, or pinkish color.....I have no idea who thought this would be a good idea.

I think that's never a good idea, that they colorized them. The DVD of Metropolis is just soo expensive here...

If you really liked Nosferatu, you should give Shadow Of The Vampire a try, not a perfect movie, but you'll enjoy this if you liked Nosferatu.

It's weird that people in Europe seem to collect NTSC games, but it's people in the US won't collect PAL right?

i think some systems have a bigger US library than a PAL one, that's most likely the reason. i know n64 has 296 total in north america and something like 247 in PAL regions i think.

I do some PAL collecting for exclusive NES titles, but I think the big problem is the video standard. I've heard of Euro TVs that will do both PAL and NTSC, but I don't see a lot of the same over here.

BTW, I'm on the look out for a decent loose PAL NES if you happen across an extra you'd like to sell.

Considering I've worked/tested with PAL display at work, I can tell you that quite a few LCD TVs support PAL standard definition (576i), and PAL display is usually not an issue with HD @ 60Hz. I would be careful with the 50Hz titles though.

Most infamously, in recent memory, Over G for Xbox 360 would only run in 50Hz in PAL regions. 60Hz will crash on boot. >.<

I have no problem playing NTSC games on my tv.

I collect NTSC exclusive NES games Wink, just picked up Pipe Dream, Crystalis, Ghoul School, Base Wars, .... Duke Togo, send me your list what you are looking for. I go to a lot of conventions and I know a lot of collectors here.

Just got an amazing price on New Ghostbusters 2, don't know if I will ever come across that one again.
