First world problems.
Also, I love that the article is from a god-forsaken console site that is going to drag its company down with it.

First world problems.

Never the less i still find it amusing.

I am also amused at a quote from one of the articles that page links to:
Quote
“The console business is still a core part of our business; it’s the majority of our business. The demise of console gaming is very premature as far as we’re concerned,” Moore said. “We still have thousands of people focused on developing current-generation Xbox 360 and PS3 games, as well as people focused now on the next generation when that finally arrives,”

In regards to EA refusing to support WiiU

That's because Nintendo made poor decisions with the hardware.

This.

There are plenty of companies in America that are more terrible than EA.

most of the hate on EA is either for things that don't even matter (microtransactions, completely optional so who cares?), or on very specific games (sim city, mass effect 3). the only one i agree with is the always on drm or online passes, but other companies do both of those so EA isn't alone there. as for the whole thing about them being all about money, i'd say activision is much worse for that with the amount they pump out endless sequels until they grind a series into the dust. other than that though hating a company because it makes a lot of money is stupid in general, especially when the people that usually hate companies for that continue to buy from them so their arguments are invalid.

EA has put out some really fun games in the past and that's all that matters to me.

Wait...

...a freakin' producer of video games is the worst corporation on U.S. soil?

Seriously?

You sure this article wasn't cribbed from The Onion or something?

I mean, it is the worst for people who would bother to go out of their way to vote against EA on the internet. Wouldn't be surprised if /v/ had a finger in it.

I don't like EA either and they pull off some nasty stuff. But guess what a lot of what EA does so do most big corps.

How EA wins over something like Bank of America or just any banking company is beyond me. Banks fuck with your money..no big deal but EA makes Madden and makes Sim City online OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously?! Really?!

It could be more than that.  I don't know if they're still doing this nowadays, but I read a bit of a write-up several years ago written by the ex-wife (one of many) of an EA employee.  As he and a team of several other individuals were working on a game, they would consistently meet deadline after deadline after deadline on a game until it was completed.  Was that enough for EA?  No, even with every deadline a team made, they kept on demanding all employees to keep on working like 60 hour (or more) weeks.  And due to them being in the entertainment industry, technically what they were doing wasn't illegal, as the entertainment industry doesn't have overtime.

And like I said, this was one of many ex-wives, as many marriages ended with husbands being out of the house for so long it became too much of a strain.

Granted, like I said, I don't know if EA still pulls this crap, and it's not mentioned in the article--it's not a real good one anyway, I'll admit--but if they do, it's another reason not to like them at all.

That was a lawsuit from years ago, and the company has taken a lot of effort to correct work-life balance. Mind you, I'm not a good example of it, but most of the year it's 40 hour work weeks, and the company has gone to flex hours when hours ramp up to help prevent work-life balance issues. They also do a lot of company events during these time periods to help ease stress.
