I got a free vic20 and apparently mice got inside the computer somehow and chewed the wires... I'm in the process of fixing it. and what intrigues me... HOW DID THE MICE GET INSIDE THE COMPUTER???

I must have missed this topic, try letting the board rest and fester in a bath of 90+% rubbing alcohol.

To me it just looks like a bunch of board wires are physically blocked by cockroach crap. But, it could be salvaged, and isopropryl alcohol is dirt cheap and can't hurt the motherboard and chips at all.

I cleaned it off with alcohol for 5 hours and I came to the conclusion it cant be saved because. the motherboard is pitted from corrosion, the power switch is ripped off from the motherboard, and every wire is chewed to hell, and that's not an exaggeration and the resistors fell off ... like literally FELL off the motherboard.

EDIT: Replacements parts can be found rather easy, if you're comfortable soldering they can go back onto the motherboard with little effort.
