If the current 2 skylanders releases on top of Disney Infinity do not flood the market will this be the straw that breaks the camels back?
How many of these games can come out before consumers stop caring and they all end up clogging clearance shelves for months on end?

Well, I have to hand it to them for trying to come up with new gimmicks innovations to at least look like they're keepin' things fresh. Still, you can only that so much before people go on to the next big thing.

As for myself: I think I'm starting to not care already. Check that: I'm starting to not care if I have the newest figures in my collection immediately after their release. I'm just waiting for one of the major retailers to have a special on 'em that I'll take advantage of. I'm guessing Toys 'R' Us will be the first to do this. I'll likely do the same for this next Skylanders entry.

If you are not signed up for their emails you should do so.
I must get 1 a week about skylanders... and a couple a week about various sales and/or coupons most of which suck.

BTW I just caught a Swap Force game play demo press conference thingy, and I hafta hand it to the presenter for really pimping the new series. The man is never short on superlatives and accentuating the positive while eliminating the negative, and not messin' with Mr. In-Between.



But even after that, I'm still jaded enough to not be quite as excited by this as I have previous releases. Maybe I'm actually growing up? A scary concept, I know...

I recognize the voice actors but i couldn't tell you their names.
Not 100% sure on the female voice but she certainly sounds familiar.

I know Flynn's voice is done by Patrick Warburton, probably best known as the paraplegic cop Joe Swanson on Family Guy.

BTW is he and that kitty-chick riding a chocobo?

Speaking of outright ripoffs tributes, doesn't Wash Buckler look more than a little bit like Davy Jones from that Pirates of the Caribbean sequel? Could this be a hint of a crossover with Disney's own interactive-figurine-game release?

It does explain why they didn't try to go after disney for patent infringement though.

Spryo series rebooted with a gimmick to suck money out of people mainly parents to buy physical DLC in the form of toys..  I can see the appeal for some collectors and to kids. I just know parents must  hate these things. Personally have no interest in playing but we are not the target audience.
