I don't know if there is another thread like this, but I did a little research and couldn't find any.

Have you ever wondered why someone would call themselves "Crabmaster2000"  or was "Den68" born in 1968 ( man your old )  Tongue  OR what the hell does "Blcklblskt" mean.

Well here's your chance to explain what your particular Screen name means.

cverz2 - Actually came from long before I ever had a computer, much less a screen name.  When I was 16 I wanted a personalized license plate.  People always mispronounce our last name "Severs".  They always pronounce it like you severed your finger.   So I thought "cverz" or "cvurz"  and finally went with cverz and needed a number to go with it.  I was a huge Charlotte Hornets fan and Larry Johnson was my favorite player and wore the number 2.

SO I came up with cverz2.  And i've been using it for screen names ever since.

I would love to here how or why you guys choose your screen names.

Tried to create a username on my X-Box account years back. I like Sonic stuff so I tried to base my username around the Sonic series.

All of the common stuff was already taken at the time so I had to mix it up a bit. I didn't want my username to contain random numbers and letters so I kept it clean. Came up with Razor Knuckles. Being that Knuckles the Sonic character had razor sharp knuckles.

Been my online username on many sites, it just stuck.

I think there was a topic about this, but it got lost in the LOST-esque time shift...

To tell this story, we have to look to the future! All the way to the year 2000...

So, like everyone, we had dial-up first. My dad started to cheap out and we began using free dial-up like NetZero and others. We finally got settled on cable Internet at home and, rather than use Comcast, I figured I better go ahead and set up one unassociated with my ISP. A buddy of mine used to call me Bickman (based on my last name of Bickley). It also happened to be the year 2000, hence bickman2k. 13 years now.

I was a huge fan of Gundam Wing when I was young, Deathscythe and it's upgrades were my favorite mobile suits.

Growing up I was and still am a pretty quiet guy.

Only just a little research.  Wink

I started one up back in mid-April, which replaced the one claimed by the great Outage of 2012:

I might as well join the name origin discussion. When I found this site I had now clue what to pick for my user name. I could have used my PSN ID (HotSushi01) but I couldn't think of it for whatever reason so I went with Fleach which is actually my nickname that I got when I was twelve. One time in class I was fooling around, and my teacher meant to call out my full name but "Fleach!" came out instead. Friends then started calling me that so it's been my nickname ever since.

OOPS!!!

Guess I didn't look very deep into the forums.  Or it could be that I'm completely ignorant and have no idea what moniker means.  Tongue

I've been Izret since i first got online in '99. It is my last name backwards.
I ended up having to use various numbers do to lost passwords and what not. I have used 101(longest running/most common), 102(on 360/AIM), 103(360/netflix/AIM), 159(AIM only),369(360/AIM).

I did use the tag Toizy at an adult site/forum. It was during that time when not everyone realized i was still a minor and i didn't want to get the member who invited me in trouble should someone decide to google me.

My username on eBay was originally my mothers account. Since i was not old enough to have an eBay account i used hers all the time and just kept it when i got older so i could keep the feedback. Never changed the handle since i always thought that was sketchy of people.

I did some thinking and a bit of unsavory searching and i am pretty sure the "adult forum" i joined as a minor was consumptionjunction. It is NSFW don't go to it. Also i couldn't find anyway to log in with out first "joining" by clicking some link to another XXX site. So i think they got killed like hardcoregaming.org WHICH IS NO LONGER A VIDEOGAMING SITE. NSFW STAY AWAY FROM IT

When I was a kid they used to show re-runs of the old Monkees TV show from the 60s right after I got home from school. I used to watch it every day andgot into the music for some reason and for a few years it was an obsession. So when I made an email address I used monkees1966 since that year was around the height of their popularity. When I went to make an eBay name monkees1966 was taken so I shortened it to monkees19 and I've used it for everything since. PSN, Xbox Live you name it.

i'm fairly sure the first place i used techwizard was as a gamespy account for playing Star Wars Battlefront II online for PC. i went with that because at the time i was really into doing computer repair, building basic websites, experimenting with modding and stuff like that for my pc. just general nerdy tech stuff for a teen. i still do that occassionally, but not nearly as often as i used to. i think the wizard part of it was just the first thing that came to mind, most likely from being a big J.R.R. Tolkien fan.

i'll never forget the list of alternate usernames gamespy suggested when a version of techwizard that i tried wasn't available. even took a screenshot of it, for the lulz:

Network Technician + My chalk number in jump school at Fort Benning.  Airborne!  It's as simple as that.  I don't like being called a geek or nerd because I am into science and technology.  I started telling everyone to call me a "techie", if they felt that I needed a label.  Nerds are considered socially impaired.  I spent 7 years as a club DJ and used to do TV spots for AFN.
