Pretty much every other moment in the original Metal Gear Solid for PS1. When it came out it was like nothing before it: the constant breaking of the fourth-wall, the telekinesis demonstration, the torture scene that literally tortures the player, and even the big 'ole twist towards the end. It's not so remarkable nowawadays - especially considering all games try to be movies (with mixed results). But back in the late-90's, it blew my mind.

Very true, my old neighbor was a champ at TMNT and any Mario he ever laid hands on. He also loved the PS1 version of the Game of Life.
