I had this idea a little while ago. Maybe it's something that could be done separately of the Collectorcast. I think it'd be fun to watch and listen to playthroughs (even partial ones) of classic games featuring RFGen members. Something like Crabby's youtube video of "Legacy of the Wizard."

A game can be chosen beforehand and the video would feature a static host while the guests would rotate to keep things fresh. Having the commentary and gameplay live at the same time might be difficult to coordinate since this is an international community, so the game footage can be recorded first then the discussion can be edited in.

Those are called "Let's Play"s and they're all over YouTube.  NintendoCapriSun is probably a good place to start, he's done just about all the classics

I think there is a good idea for this, but since this is the topic suggestion thread, I think it may be time for one of you to branch a new thread off for further discussion.

I like the idea of talking about the Secret Santa scores.

Sorry that my idea went off on a tangent there.

A topic that I think could be added to the Collectorcast is the collecting scene in various cities. Maybe one city each time the topic comes up. Interesting things to discuss would be local retro/collector meet-ups and challenges held within the highlighted city.

I'm not sure it quite fits, but I think a discussion of something bombatomba brought up in the following thread would be interesting:

Hey, how about guilty pleasures of the NES or it could be other consoles included.  I know I have mentioned it before, but Friday the 13th is my guilty pleasure.

What if you don't feel guilty about liking crappy games?

Hey, Super Metroid is awesome, probably 1 of the top 3 SNES games.  I also use to love playing Fester's Quest.  I know someone here has a few like that, I am sure.  Maybe even Deadly Towers......

I make it a point to collect and play "crappy" games. I often find that they are badly misrepresented or not given enough time/attention.
I loved Fester's Quest as a kid.
