I found the Lego Hogwarts Castle for $2 bucks the other day.

It was missing a few pieces, mainly a small archway section and some of the figures. The main parts of the castle are complete and it had the box and manual.

found 12 more Star Trek novels yesterday. I hard bound, the rest paperback. they were from various series, TNG, Voyager, DS9, the original series and New Frontier.
the store I got them at sells books at 5 for a dollar. 12 books for $2 bucks. can't beat that.

another load of Star Trek novels, 13 this time. one looks kind of interesting, it's called "Spock, Messiah".

I hope Star Trek: Ice Trap wasn't one of them, it's not very good.

heh, I do have that one. I was sorting through all my Star Trek books last night. I've got quite a few but there seems to be a ton of these things.

I had a close encounter of the non-gaming kind yesterday. I stopped by a local thrift and found a Lego Mindstorm Robotic Invention box sitting on the shelf. The only problem was when I opened it up it was almost empty (maybe 20 small parts and the manual). I might have picked it up just for the box and manual but they wanted $10 which seemed high. Talk about your rollercoaster of emotions!

that sucks. that would have been a nice one. I've had really good luck with Lego finds and they are always dirt cheap around here. I've also found quite a few unopened sets at thrifts and those are just as cheap.
I might have grabbed that too but $10 for a box and manual is a little crazy.

I have a couple of Mindstorm addon sets and a book that I have picked up but so far no control unit. My last Lego find was a huge box full for $10, it had 15 or so complete sets. I asked the guy at the store why it was priced so low and he told me he prices them to go because he hates to have them in the store. He said everytime he has one on the shelf some kid get it open (no matter how well it's closed) and spills it all over.

that's an interesting point. I've seen a few things I might have bought had I got there before the kid who tore the box apart and scattered it all over the floor.
my last Lego find was Hogwarts Castle, not complete but pretty close. my best was a Lego train with track and transformer, roughly a $1000 set for peanuts.
do you collect Lego's or just grab the occasional set?

I was looking around at a thrift store and found this:
I already have a 10 gallon tank, and this was a steal for only 10 dollars. I don't know how many gallons it is (my guess is about anywhere from 20-30) it just needs to be cleaned up a little bit, light still works and everything
