Bought a 10 year old Thoroughbred mare (horse) for $1000.  She is a granddaughter to Seattle Slew (a famous race horse).
Am so stoked to have a horse big enough and trained enough for me to ride, finally!
I have a pic but don't know how to insert it...  I'm not good at the interweb |D

yesterday I found a Viewmaster viewer and 20 reels. all from between 1948 and 1952. $10 bucks. the reels are all of famous sights around the world, Pike's Peak, the Black Hills, Africa and others. this was back when Viewmaster was not merely just pictures from kids shows and movies.

I found a box of about 40 vhs tapes sitting on top of a garbage can. I looked both ways and stuck it in the car.

I'll occasionally buy unlabeled VHS tapes from thrifts just to see what's on them. it's mildly entertaining. I've seen peoples goofy home movies, episodes of Jeopardy from the 80's, lame movies off the family channel and such.

a few have had some old video game commercials which were cool to see again. I should try to compile those onto another tape or DVD.

I found a quarter on the floor today.
I picked it up and kept it.
It was a California state quarter.

I also found money the other day.  It was a nice dollar bill.  There wasn't even poop or spit on it; I checked.

found this last night:

http://www.bricklink.com/...talogItemPic.asp?S=4560-1

paid 3 bucks for it. not sure how complete it is yet but I have the transformer, engine and track. these Lego train sets go for around $80 to $100 bucks new. I was pretty pleased.

also picked up 7 Star Trek novels for a quarter apiece.

it turns out the train was indeed complete and it works. some of the accessories had missing pieces but no biggie. $3 bucks for an item that was over $100 new ain't a bad deal.

My mom picked my up a mix bag of trading cars for a quarter.
There was 200 cards in it.
Mostly Yu-Gi-Oh cards which included the imfamous Blue Eyes White Dragon some first edition cards and some cards with metallic text i know they are rarer but don't remember if they are differnt versions of a common card or their own entity.

Magic cards - only one rare in there a few older cards but mostly common stuff

and some Dragon Ball Z cards i know absolutely nothing about these.
I own 1 packs worth that came in some magazine i got years ago.

So things came full circle:
