I played Time Killers whenever I went to the arcade too, but that game has not aged well at all. After you got over the fun of cutting peoples limbs off, it got old fast.

Time Killers just looked stupid once Samurai Showdown came to town.

Didn't Stryker fire his gun in the air when he won?  Are you sure you weren't playing Mortal Kombat Wink

So i just spent the last hour on youtube checking out all the awful, just terrible mortal kombat clones from the 90's.  Oddly enough, Survival Arts was probably the best one.

Does Street Fighter the Movie count as a Mortal Kombat clone?  I mean, I know that Street Fighter was already well established but they  used the same actor digitizing process to make it feel more like MK.

lol i guess yes.

Also from Wiki:
"Originally, Boon and Tobias were approached to create a video game adaptation of the 1992 film Universal Soldier[31] starring actor and martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme, with a digitized version of the action star fighting villains.[32] Intending to make a game "a lot more hard edge, a little bit more serious, a little bit more like Enter the Dragon or Bloodsport" than Street Fighter II,[33] Boon and Tobias decided to continue their project even after the deal to use the Bloodsport license fell through.[2] One of their own characters, Johnny Cage, became "a spoof on the whole Van Damme situation."[31]"

Considered starting a new thread, but I'll try with this old one. Smiley

Im trying to help a friend finding the name of an arcade game. Unfortunately he cant remember very much from it, so I really dont expect you to be able to find this out Wink
I'll quote some of the parameters he remembers.

So its an Arcade game.
Its probably from around ~1987. He remember playing it when he finished school at -89. (So sometime around this era)
He's into games like Galaga, and when I asked him to describe the graphics he mentions "better graphics than Galaga" and "not your galaga pixels"... "starting to look better than that" ... "fast moving realistic kind of looking".

About the gameplay he mentions "you are a dude who run from left to right across the screen. The screen remains centered on you, but the screen scrolls from left to right. You control the movement (its not automatically moving from left to right).
Different enemies appeared and he mentions "rolling bugs" ... "rhino looking things".
Yould be able to fire out a forcefield and your arms would stretch out in front like you were punching the forcefield out.
He remembers a "jungle type background".

Not many parameters to go with here.
Any thoughts on what game this might be?
Or any thoughts on any good follow-up questions I can ask my friend, that could help pinpointing this game? Smiley
