While re-adding my collection, updating DB info and then finding a place to store it all again i am going to try and snap a pics and give a brief update on each step.

I had posted links elsewhere that will probably be dead since i created a new folder specifically for this thread.
So this is how things started:

Jam packed closet
http://sdrv.ms/UBqBgM

Kombat totes
http://sdrv.ms/U9qVad

Corner of shame
http://sdrv.ms/U9qY5Y

360 games
http://sdrv.ms/U9qZ9V

Progress made thus far:

Entered all of the oversized 360 games
http://sdrv.ms/U9Jc5i

Freed up some closet space:
http://sdrv.ms/10gv0uG
&
http://sdrv.ms/S6mAnG

I added a bunch of 360 imports and kinect games to my collection last night i will wait until finishing all the other standard sized 360 games before getting them together for the next pic.

That's a nice walk-in closet. How long did it take you to organize it?

Actually it isn't so much a walk in closet as a suck in your gut and slide in closet.
As for organizing it it is actually a complete mess.
Games are not alphabetical or sorted by system anymore and i have things in there that i never added and thing not in there that i have sold.

If i can snap a picture of the top shelf of hardware i'll do so. Have to finish clearing out the visible shelves first.

Took much of the day but i added another ~225 360 games to my collection.
Got a bunch of info added to the DB and added some missing titles too Grin

I did not add things like Kinect Adventures or Resident Evil 5 NFR since i do own the hardware they were bundled with. I consider them to be part of a total package.

Thankfully i only have 6 games that need boxes/manuals. I believe i have sets for 2 of those. Won't know for sure until i find and go through all my orphans again though...

Mini wall of 360 games:
http://sdrv.ms/RQ8i9j

Tomorrow i delve into the closet.
Working from the top down on the shelves i put in there before getting to the hardware that was on the existing shelf WAY up top.

Top shelf i believe currently has a mix of Viewmaster Interactivision, NDS, Xbox, PC and misc DVD based stuff.
DS is right up front so i'll attack that first. Should give me the ability to move some PC stuff out of the way and get to Viewmaster which will take all ov 2 minutes. Then the heavy hitter for the day will be Xbox. I'm hoping i can get it all done in a day.

There are a lot of oversized/Collector's/Limited editions this gen. One just has to look at your oversized box 360 picture to get an idea:  http://sdrv.ms/U9Jc5i

I don't want to think about how many are going to be made for the next set of consoles, and for the price point they usually charge $70-$120 per edition it is just not worth it. ..

Looking forward to seeing more pictures.

Not pictured there are my Mortal Kombat Kollectors and Tournament Edition or Kingdoms of Amalur Signature edition(this may never be pictured).

Compared to quite a few other people i actually think i have a (relatively)small number of the nonstandard 360 releases.

I have actually been able to grab nearly all of them at clearance or going out of business sales from(in order of frequence) BestBuy, GameCrazy, NewEgg.com, amazon.com, one from Walmart, one from Kmart, and even one from Big Lots.

Dark Souls CE came in as a purchase from someone at GameTZ. Other than that they have all been "retail" purchases thus far.

Anyways back to work for now...

Gamecube done
http://sdrv.ms/T2H8dW
I don't understand how i can have 4 sets of duplicates... Or how my dupe Baten Kaitos magically opened itself.

PS2 done
http://sdrv.ms/RSwDvc
A couple games here either have been completely opened that were sealed before or have started spontaneously tearing the cello. I think i have a poltergeist who hates sealed games...

Some more visible in this top top shelf. I guess this would be a teaser of things to come?
http://sdrv.ms/RSwU0Z

Still have to add my dwindling Wii/N64/SNES/Genny collections, Gameboy/Color/Advance, PC, Demos, Orphans, V.Smile, Pico, tons of hardware, XBLA( :'( so many games), everything Mortal Kombat and whatever other misc. stuff is floating around in the cardboard boxes on the floor still.

Luckily i have not had any commentary from the wifey and only got the evil eye on the very first day.

I wasw also completely heardbroken to (re)discover that two of my pricier games have pretty serious damage to the discs. I am hoping they will be buffable. Futurama for the Xbox and Ocarina of Time/Masterquest on GCN.

I also threw away a few games that i knew were beyond repair that i grabbed from the free bin when i worked at GameCrazy.
I miss the free bin. I got so much swag from there. Sometimes i really miss working at a game store.

I luvs me some collectors editions.
I went through a phase where i was seeking out all kinds of "nonstandard" games. Thats actually how i ended up with the viewmaster too.

Wow, this looks like it is coming along amazingly well. Nice stash!
Thanks Smiley I'm going to sneak over to my parents place to get some pics of what i have there sometime this week. Most of that is systems, magazines, store displays and misc game related stuff.

I am REALLY worried about condition though because i know when i lived there i had to run a dehumidifier nonstop and i am sure it has probably gone unused for the ~6+ years i have been gone.

loose... discs... e v e r y w h e r e.

http://nooooooooooooooo.com

In my defense all the games had just come out of zip locks i was using for transportation when i was working across state. 100 discs are easy to bring back and forth. 100 boxes not so much. Most regrettably all of them look like they spent 6 months out of boxes though. Everything still runs but i hate when i disc has a million little scratches in the bottom of it.

You're doing it right. I used to spend so much money on oversized box editions of games only to see them go to the bargain bin a month later.

Keep the pictures coming it looks better and better.  Cool
