speaking of which, I heard that Sears is going to have the Nook Touch (b&w) for $40 on Black Friday. Anybody know if that price will be online as well? $40 is cheap.

Last year, I did a LOT of online shopping on Thanksgiving.  Amazon wants to get sales that day to stop people from going out on Black Friday and other retailers end up matching the Amazon price to stay competitive.
