Question: How do you feel about Saints Row 2?
It looks like fun, I'm getting it!
It's obviously not as good as GTA4 but I'll buy it once the price drops to about $30-20.
I'm not going to bother playing something worse than GTA4.
I don't like sandbox games so I won't be getting this one either.

I was wondering what you guys think about Saints Row 2. Obviously, people will compare the game with GTA4 and see that it's not nearly as good as Rockstar's latest.

But the question is: will you pick up Saints Row 2 for what it's worth or will you dismiss it completely for being a GTA rip-off?

Here's the GT review for anyone interested:

Saint's Row, despite being the same kind of game is hardly a GTA ripoff. I've always felt that GTA focused slightly more in the realm of realism, where Saint's Row is much more stylized.

That said, I loved Saint's Row, and I look forward to eventually getting the second one.

There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody's expense but his own.

Voted 30-20, but I'd probably wait until it's $10-15. Too much other stuff to play first.

The slapstick goofy over-the-top awesomeness. GTA IV was just kinda grimdark and blarg, still a great game by all accounts.

I only played the demo of the first one and I didn't like it. It seemed too white-middle-class-wannabe-black-gangsta with over use of the "N" word.

My not so savvy friend bought it recently for £20 used when it's being sold for around £10 new online. Tongue He traded it in pretty quickly because he thought it was so awful. But then this is the guy who thought King Kong was a "top class" game.

Well you could create a black character so that it would feel real gangsta. Wink

Like Leon said. GTA4 has pretty much become gritty real life. While neither game really interest me, Saints Row 2 does seem to actually want to be more fun.
