From the article:

"Hoang said he was caught late last year racing his prized car, on which he spent at least $10,000 to get into top shape. The 350-horsepower engine topped out at 160 mph, Hoang said, swearing it could beat a Corvette or even a Ferrari."

  Sure it could.



"They must prove that the serial or identification numbers on a vehicle or its parts are removed, altered or destroyed."

So these cars are getting crush because they are suspected or proven to have stolen parts. Good!

Punks who are using / getting stolen parts need to be made an example of IMO.

Awesome and a shame.

There reallyneed to be more legal racing venues for drag racing.

But of course they would just charge oodles of money and have too many stupid rules so people would keep racing on the streets anyways.

I agree and I don't agree

You mean stupid rules that would require cars being safe enough at those speeds?
I know most youth (and other age groups) out there just want to take short cuts and just race. But crash 1 time while racing, and then you'll understand why safety and rules are important.

Also, street racing is very dumb. All it takes is 1 mistake, and you could harm innocent people, and even yourself.

On topic, punks who get stolen parts, or steal themselves are getting what is due.

They should strip the cars and sell the parts. Use the money for something good. The get the owners of the cars and crush them.
