This article, written by Henry Jenkins of MIT, refutes many of the common myths that surround video games.  It's a great read, and thankfully, the man actually cites his sources well and presents solid evidence without a load of bull padding his arguments.

You should all read it, right now.  Myth #2 is especially appropriate in regards to current legislation, crazed lawyers, and parent protests.

Good article.  Sadly, everything in there was kinda second nature.

It would be nice if people other than gamers read stuff like this.

They also have top 5's from some industry people:(http://www.pbs.org/kcts/v...history/best-n-worst.html)

I didn't read the whole thing but I did skim it and what he says is so true.  Too bad like Hydrobond said that only us gamers will read it.  I think I'll go play a violent video game and go kill someone now *sarcasm*

Wow, I did not know that Seamus Blackley was a high energy physicist. He gains more respect from me.

I am surprised that only one person put ET in the worse five, and that the 11 year old grandson only owns a Gamecube. Poor kid.

Oh, yeah the article.

Kudos to this professor to go out on a limb and dare to say someting different than what people his age would like to hear. Perhaps maybe, just maybe, his arguments discussed in this article can be translated to the political and moral crusade against games.
