Conundrum And Recommendation

For starters, I don't know if this is in right forum or not as it pertains to Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards, so if it's the wrong place to post, I apologize in advance.
Anyway, I've been interested in obtaining the cards for some of my all time favorite villagers since they let auto-receive clients in Happy Home Designer and will have role to play in the New Leaf update, but when I look on Amazon I find reasonable prices such as cards for 99 cents, but Amazon requires shipping fees on everything...including regular old letters that would hold a birthday card.
No offense to Amazon but if I'm not tracking a large package, why should I pay a 4+ dollar shipping price? Especially if postage on a letter costs less? I'm not sure outside of Amazon where else to look. I don't trust Ebay because of scalpers, and since these aren't baseball cards or trading cards where you can match x-amount of commons for rares I'm only willing to pay a maximum of one dollar per card.
If you're gonna say "this is a highly sought after card, I'll only pay 30" then I might as well buy thirty dollars worth of packs at Gamestop and hope I get the card. Does anyone know a good place where I can purchase stand alone amiibo cards at reasonable prices and not be bogged down by shipping costs? Or am I out of luck?
