A co-worker of mine has a Ms. Pac-Man arcade cabinet that is sick.  The power supply is fine, the unit plays blind.  He says he is getting a high voltage shutdown, all the troubleshooting seems to point to the monitor flyback transformer.  Could this be the cause of his problem and where can he find a flyback for this machine to see if this is the issue.  Thanks.

Tynstar has a machine but not sure if he knows repairs.

I'll touch base with him tomorrow to have him chime in if he doesn't see the thread.

I'm pretty sure that is the case.  I believe there isn't even the monitor "glow" from it.

Sounds good.  I know a few guys on here are arcade cabinet owners and would hopefully be able to help him out.

On the back of the monitor there should be a tube looking thing. Does it light up when the system is getting power?

Sorry I forgot about this thread. If there is no light on that tube behind the monitor it's definitely not getting power. Try the obvious first such as pulling that piece out (the entire section comes off easily from the rest of the monitor) and check the pins. If they are all accounted for and in good health then start checking fuses and capacitors for issues.

I'm positive he checked all the fuses and caps and they were good. I'll have him check the monitor.
