Could we see hundreds of hardware clones that all do the same thing because everyone wants to get a piece of the pie?(Assuming the pie gets large enough for everyone to have a piece.)

i wouldn't say Ouya but Android, even though it's not a dedicated gaming OS, that's what the real pong console is in my mind

There are also rumors of an Amazon set-top box that will play games (in addition to movies and such), so yeah, I think Android is set up to be like a pong console.

I can't believe how much of an anti-climax the OUYA turned out to be. It seemed pretty good on paper but it never really amounted to anything. Maybe they marketed it the wrong way? Who knows.
I would be surprised if hundreds of OUYA knock-offs crawled out of the woodwork, but I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two. Handhelds as well.

It wasn't a market smashing success but its creation successfully lined the pockets of a few individuals and appears to still be doing so.

Didn't one of the key members of Ouya jump the sinking ship recently?

"There's Pretty Much No Reason To Buy An Ouya Anymore"
When was there a reason to buy one?

It was an inexpensive and attractive system for people who might play games for enjoyment rather than achievements.

Again why would people buy it?

This is why I wanted one. But they haven't released it in my neck of the woods. I don't know if they ever will. I would totally buy one though; say what you will about the OUYA, but the price is right.

I'm sure there will be a lot of cheap Android consoles... heck, the OUYA wasn't even the first.
