I need to mix up my collecting habits a little bit.   I want to knock out a few subsets per publisher.  Does anyone have any suggestions on  some that  are cheap and easy to complete?

Please don't say LJN.

I think most of Konami's Silver Box games are fairly cheap. The only exceptions I can think of would be all 3 Castlevanias, Contra, and King's Quest V.

I haven't even been trying to get Silver box games, or boxed NES games in general, but I keep slowly finding them.

Data East is one I like to pick up. Especially the ones that have the red border.

You could also look into picking up all the Zapper and/or Power Pad games too.

KOEI is a cool one to collect, but it has a few titles that'll cost a bit more than many other sets.

If you want a smaller set for a goal Broderbund or Culture Brain have some pretty fantastic games.

If you're a role playing guy FCI might be worth looking into.

If you want a cheap set GameTek is very doable.

If you want to get a set with mostly fun games you could go for Sunsoft.

Vic Tokai is a pretty neat set too. A few hidden gems in their library.

Could go for all the Ultra games if you want to break down Konami even more.

So many great ways to tackle the NES!!

I started a checklist for a few publishers so fat, and there always seems to be one or two games that are crazy expensive.  But i love Sunsoft and Tengen and both libraries aren't too tough to afford

Unfortunately Crabby doesn't know much about the NES  Wink

You know as strange as that sounds.  I have only found 1 in the wild since I started collecting in 2004.

I have been trying to do this lately (I collect CIB).  I have been trying to get Konami and Hudson/Sunsoft games, but some odd reason, I have been acquiring a lot of Tengen games.  Now if I can only get a CIB Tengen Tetris for a good price.

Looking for CIB NES games..........even Silent Service.
I once made the mistake of smelling a NES cart.  Man, the last guy that blew in it must have had bad breath, because it smelled like a sack full of assholes.

Square RPGs Wink  That's one that I'm working on.

For NES subsets, as a boxed collector, I started collecting subsets with similar boxes.

Capcom- There are several different box styles, the Section Z.Mega Man 1 type with the crossing lasers and the Mega Man 4 "purple border" type.  I had them separated at first but now all Capcoms are alphabetical.  They are similar enough where they look good mixed

Tecmo-most of my Tecmo games have that red bar across the bottom that extends to the spine.  This makes the games really stand out when grouped together.

Konami Silver Box games-Maybe my favorite NES box style apart from NES black box games.  They look great grouped together as carts or boxes.

NES Black Box The most expensive subset if you are going for CIB, not really too bad if you are just going for cart only except for Donkey Kong Jr Math.
