Do you guys like Bate's Hamburgers?
Bate's is always my first stop on when I get to MI. Those nasty little grease bombs are the best.

I haven't seen the place the few times I've been up in Michigan. Of course, I don't know if they have any in the Flint/Flushing/Grand Blanc/Saginaw area. One thing I do like up there that we don't have here in Cincinnati (among other things) is YaYa's chicken. That stuff is really good. Oh, and I'm not sure if there is more than one, but Walli's is also a nice place to eat. Gah. YaYa's sounds soooo good right now. Stupid Cincinnati.

Yeah, those are really popular here in Cincinnati, but we use Cincinnati-style chili. I didn't get a chance to try one up there and see what the differences are. I should remember that I need to get one if I am able to return at the end of this month.

I live in the metro Detroit area and I don't believe we have any Bate's, Ya-Ya's or Walli's.
If Bate's is a typical greasy spoon there are plenty of those around. they are usually on a corner, quite small and done in white tile. there's Mott's, Bray's and others.

I got to Bates every couple of weeks. Thier milkshakes are the shite. I go to Brays whenever I go to a bar called Knockouts on Ford and Newburgh. It's right down the street so I have to stop by when I'm in the neighborhood.

It's a really bad Hooters rip off. Still, they have 10 cent wings every Wednesday!

It was $210 to $235 from Cincinnati to Flint (and back) last time I checked, so you'd be spending more than that.
