I was curious if there are any boxing fans here that have been following Kelly Pavlik. He's from Youngstown Ohio where I go to school and graduated from the high school five minutes from where I've lived my entire life. The entire city and nearly the entire Northeast corner of Ohio has been watching him these past few years. So, needless to say tomorrow's championship fight right in downtown Youngstown is a huge deal for everybody.

In case you don't know Kelly Pavlik, he's the WBC, and WBO middleweight champion. And is defending his titles against Marco Antonio Rubio of Mexico tomorrow night.

If anyone was curious, Kelly won by TKO in the 9th round.

Cool on the tko. Over all good match?

I didn't get a chance to watch it. But I'm sure it was, all of his past fights that I've seen were entertaining, and since this was in front of his home town, he probably made it as good of a fight as he could.
On the local channels during the match, they had a thing on the bottom of the screen saying giving updates, and it said who won each round (I don't know if the judges for the match give those or if it's just an "expert's opinion" at that point, but Pavlik won all but the 6th round. So it may have been a one sided fight.

He is still the WBC, The Ring and WBO middleweight champion.
The only titles he doesn't have yet is the IBF and WBA.
