Legendary Sci-Fi author Arthur C. Clarke has passed away today...

http://www.cnn.com/2008/S...18/obit.clarke/index.html

If you don't know, Arthur wrote 2001: A Space Odyssey and helped Stanley Kubrick write the screenplay for the film adaptation. Some other novels he's written include Rendezvous With Rama (which is being adapted into a movie directed by David Fincher and starring Morgan Freeman), Childhood's End, The City and the Stars, and many others.

He was truly a legend and will be missed.

He wrote about space exploration and communications satellites decades before the technology was available.  Truly ahead of the time.
