Futurama: Bender's Big Score

I just got done watching it. Frankly, it is not like many Futurama episodes. If you are looking for the straight up slapstick humor, you will be somewhat disappointed. There is however numerous parts where you will just start crying from from laughter.

The movie is more of a drama type Futurama episode; think The Luck of the Fryrish. If you loved that episode, you will absolutely love this movie. The plot is well conceived, and frankly better constructed than most hollywood/independent films. There is constantly a lot going on, and for the most part you will often feel lost as to what is happening (think Memento). Unlike Memento however, this movie doesn't get to the point where you simply aren't enjoying yourself til the end, the movie is fun from start to finish.

Like I said before, the episode is more like Luck of the Fryrish in which there is comedy throughout but a compelling story that frankly has some tear jerking moments. Frankly, seeing this as three separate episodes would be terrible in my opinion. If you can, watch it as the movie, don't wait for the Comedy Central version (where the first three episodes of the new season are butchered versions of this movie to make it more like TV episodes). Anyway, if you are a fan of Futurama I highly recommend it. Even if this was a standalone movie, I still highly recommend it.

It was 98% awful. They used old jokes and new lame ones. The plot was retarded until right before the end, then it got retarded again. The villains were retarded the whole time and the main characters were different somehow.

It was like they tried to cram all of Futurama into an hour and a half plus dumb it down for an audience that hadn't seen the show before.

Not really. It was more like they tried to not do what they did with The Simpsons which is provide a terrible story with mediocre to good jokes but instead create a great story with few jokes.

I didn't even know this was out yet! Wasn't there any advertising or publicity for it? Maybe because it isn't all that good?


Anyways, I'll download it, then maybe buy it. I'm not that fond of the more emotional episodes of the show, so I'm a bit weary about this too.

No, I didn't. In fact, I didn't laugh out loud even once. A faint smile every now and then is all I got.

I agree with Leon, it isn't very good and for futurama standards it's pretty bad. The story was needlessly complicated, even though you could see the end coming from the start. (gee, lars is fry, who would have ever guessed?)
Cramming in as many characters from previous shows only resulted in making the same jokes over and over again. If you could even call them jokes.

I still Have hope. I havent seen bender's big score yet. but if it does suck, I have hope that the others wont. There suposed to be releasing 3 more in 2008. I really loved this show when it was on and i really want it to make a comeback!
