I picked this up today and haven't got a chance to play it yet.

But from the way things look both online and from what i got off the box, manual and game Nintendo let sega use Nintendo characters and then gave them the reins to do all the other work.

It is just amazing to see so many Mario and Sonic characters in one game.
The line up is

Nintendo  Sega
Mario        Sonic
Luigi         Tales
Peach       Knuckles
Daisy        Amy Rose
Yoshi        Shadow
Wario       Blaze
Waluigi     Vector
Bowser    Dr. Eggman(I MISS Dr. ROBOTNICK!!!!!)

(I MISS Dr. ROBOTNICK!!!!!)

Ever see Sonic X?
Going by that I'd say we probably will never see Dr. Robotnick again.

Its pretty good.

I only put a half an hour into it.

Harder than any of the Wii Sports thing Nintendo has made.
Well not necessarily harder but requires more skill

Nope. That's why I asked if Izret if he had seen Sonic X as I'm not sure if any of the games ever revealed the connection.

Sonic Adventure I and II on both the US and JP versions Dr. Eggman is name Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnick.

Oh and the Japanese version of Sonic X was great.

Spoiler Below
Yeah, and as I guess anyone who hasn't seen Sonic X yet doesn't plan on seeing it so will just let everyone know, that according to Sonic X (that was done by Sonic's creator) Eggman and Robotnik are not the same person. Robotnik is in fact Eggman's grandpa, and the creator of Shadow.

As for the latest Olympics, well the fact Sonic and the gang are in it make it pretty tempting to play, so if it were on display at the shops, I would give it a shot. But without a Mac or PC port, I won't ever get a proper play until emulation evolves enough of these systems I guess.
