The masterminds at CMU have set up the Game Innovation Database wiki.

I just browsed through the database there, and I must say that it's pretty sloppy for a University project.  Aside from small mistakes here and there, it doesn't really say much in detail (lots of generalizations).  On the NES page, they even mention Wisdom Tree as "Bible Tree." Wink  I do like their goal, though, but I do have my doubts about their documented innovations being completely accurate.
