Just picked up two Captain Power tapes for 60 cents a piece at a local thrift.  Unfortunately I already had one of them, but at 60 cents, it doesn't hurt to have an extra of one of those, since they're not common at all.  The two tapes I got are:

Future Force Training: Skill Level 1
Raid on Vocania: Skill Level 3

I don't have the gun, but I'm sure I'll get one one of these days.  I did find these at The Village.  I looked through their other tapes, but no dice.  They did have some really funny 60-inch waist fat people pants though.

You should have got the pants and told people "I used to weigh this much" and then made up some diet.

I wish there was such a thing as a thrift store open on Sundays here where I live. I don't want to wait a whole week until next Saturday. My job keeps me out during store hours all week.

I've only seen a Captain Power tape once. I wasn't aware of the system at the time so of course I passed it up.

so what's the story on that thing? similar to Action Max and Interactivevision?

Kind of.  Basically it's a light gun that works with a series of 30-minute videos of the same name.  It was first a television show and then the tapes were released with the gun.  A score appears on the gun as you "hit" the bad guys.  Of course, it had the same problems Action Max and InterativeVsion did in that after watching the tapes a few times, perfect scores every time were possible - and every single game for the "system" was of course a light gun game.  At least Captain Power was a little more honest about that issue.

I remember an old coin-op video game called possibly "Driver"
which was just a film sequence, and you had to steer, but you could not alter the events in the game, and each time you 'crashed' a yello light would flash, and at the end of the course you would get a score.
