Wow.  I'm surprised there isn't a thread about his one yet.

I just got back from seeing King Kong and holy crap it was awesome.  Go see it.  Now.  It's three hours, but three hours of awesomeness.  When they say it's the best movie this year they're quite possibly right.  The special effects were great, the acting was good, the action kicked ass, and the way they told the story was excellent.

The only real problem I had with it was while Kong was in New York he was sliding on the ice that didn't look like it could hold him.  But it's a movie so I can deal with it.

It was way too long. I've seen better CG. Peter Jackson can only make semblance's of movies when given a 100 million. It was alright. Family fun.

I didn't think this movie met up any of the hype surrounding it...the acting was way too fake and Hollywood-like.  The story and plot were way too perfect and a lot of stuff was just far too cliche.  I understand that it is a remake and therefore am willing to overlook some of these characteristics of the movie, but nevertheless I could never consider it movie of the year Wink

Seeing as it was a "remake", I gave this movie creidt for actually being a pretty good adaption.

The cg was ok, and I even felt sad at the end  Tongue I guess it was worth the 13 dollars I paid for it Wink, but I probably should have waited for it to drop to the 9.99 bin  Cheesy

I thought the movie was very good for a remake. It's a breath of fresh air when compared to many of the crappy remakes that have been coming out lately. Even though some parts of the movie were cliched, the fact that it's a remake of a movie made when these cliches were not cliches nulls out that negativity.

I hated the new King Kong. It was exactly like the old King Kong except they stretched the scenes out longer to make it 3 hours. The fight with the T-Rexes goes on for like 5 days. I just wanted it to end so I could leave. I should have figured it would be that way.

Peter Jackson is brilliant. He makes mediocre movies with an already established fan base so a billion people will flock to see them -no matter what. He also seems to have figured out that as long as a movie is 3 hours long, people will consider it fine art, even if it's crap. I have more respect for Uwe Boll, who does exactly the same thing. At least Uwe doesn't have any delusions about the crap he puts out.

It'll be really funny if Jackson's Halo movie is 3 hours long and has lots of forlorn looks between Master Chief and Cortana.

I thought this film was awsome, only thing I didnt like was how ann danced for kong, I thought it was ridiculous. Also the first hour of the movie seemed to be dragged out alittle too much.
